  • Hello, everyone

    Hello,

My name is Michel Chevalier and I am a Canadian. I started looking for God when I was eight, on my own (I was a rather precocious child). I read several versions of the Bible and at least a dozen times since I started searching Him.

I don’t belong in any church and I don’t believe there are any Baptists ones where I live. I attend College to learn Computer programming and am happily engaged with a beautiful girl.

My favourite verse would have to be Jeremiah 31:3: The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee.

    Hey Michel!

I love Jeremiah 31. Later on in that chapter God says:

(Jeremiah 31:28-29) And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD. In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge."

It is a perfect illustration of both His loving benevolence and His destructive power. He gives and He takes away.

    Just like it should be.

    Glory!

    Yours in Christ,

    Z. Smyth

Hello Mr. Chevalier, and welcome to our friendly forums!

So tell us, how do you plan to use computer programming to glorify the LORD?

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

                  How are you?
1 Corinthians 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

1 Corinthians 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

I certainly have French ancestors, but none of them are this man. My grandfather's name is Martial and he is still very much alive. He and my grandmother, as well as my relatives on my father’s side, all reside in Quebec. My grandparents are a devout couple, I encountered religion for the first time in their home before I could even speak and it was there also that I started wondering and researching.

Hello Mr. Chevalier, and welcome to our friendly forums!

So tell us, how do you plan to use computer programming to glorify the LORD?
I have always enjoyed working with computers. The fact that I can code something and see it happen before my very eyes never becomes boring. I entered this program because I enjoy mathematics and formulas. There is no connection between that and my spiritual research, to be completely honest.

Presently, I’m 24 years old and I live in Ontario; I attend a college called Fanshawe and have a small job on the side in the meantime to make ends meet. I was born in Ottawa but now I live in London (yes, the city has the same name as the capital of the UK).

                    You're a catholic, aren't you...
My mother had me baptized one when I was three months old, but I withdrew from their church when I was nine, on my own. I did not find a suitable answer in their midst as I don’t agree with the notion of worshipping images or saints. Here, in the city where I now live, the majority is protestant. I didn’t find satisfying answers in their faith either.

Tell me Micheal, what is your favorite thing about being a Baptist?

Dosen't it make you giggle when people worship mary? I know it annoys God to no end.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

I’m afraid I couldn’t extrapolate on the joys of being a Baptist, as this is the first time I ever read about this faith. Also, there are none where I live at all, to my knowledge.

Although I do not approve of the worship of Mary, I do not jeer or mock those who choose to do so. My having been a precocious child has made me the target of a lot of persecution and mockery at school. I will not act like my peers of those years. I find the cult of Mary an example of the very sad spiritual state of many people, and to me, that is not very amusing.

Jesus was literally baptized by John the Baptist. How could you not have heard about Baptist Christians?
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

I remember well John the Baptist from the Scriptures, and that he baptized Jesus by submerging him in the Jordan, after which, He received the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove.
This fact, nonetheless, doesn’t change that there are no Baptists churches near me. Truthfully, I had never heard of it before a few days past, while researching.

This is not true. Your spiritual life either works to glorify God, or it works against God. If you are not glorifying the LORD as you write your computer games, then you are actively seeking to glorify Satan.
