I see where you are coming from, and I must respectively disagree on your views about Christianity. I feel that Christianity should not lower itself to the barbaric level of (for example) radical muslims, as you seem to do here.

I shall leave this forum now, and I won't be coming back, for I cannot understand how much hate you people seem to have inside you. This, to me, is against the teachings of Jesus Christ, say what you will.

When it comes to war and violence, I will follow Jesus Christ, not Augustine of Hippo and likes of him, who have distorted the original message of God for their own selfish goals. The tolerance towards violence is one of those distortions.

I wish you all will find peace inside you and forgiveness for the people you condemn.

You know how we can put that idea to the test, friend? By looking what Jesus said. If you were right, he would say in Luke 14:26:

If any man come to me, and put not after me his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Now what does it really say?

Luke 14:26:

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

This is as clear as it gets. You can't just arbitrarily decide to change the meaning of the word "hate" just because otherwise this Passage wouldn't fit in your worldviews.

After all, if you adapt the Bible on every point where it disagrees with your worldview, what would you end up with? Just the parts of the Bible that do fit in, and which you believed already before reading the Bible anyway. What, then, is the point of reading the Bible, or claiming to live by It?

Again, because I follow The Ten Commandments and wish not to break the part where it is said "Thou shall not kill".

I've explained that Deuteronomy 5:17 is a general commandment, to apply in cases not specified otherwise in the Bible (like abortion). After all, this commandment does not say anything specifically about blasphemy, while Leviticus 24:16 does. Why, then, do you consult Deuteronomy 5:17 when you encounter blasphemy, and not Leviticus 24:16? That makes no sense!

And secondly, even if this was a contradiction (which it isn't), then on what basis do you decide to follow Deuteronomy 5:17 and not Leviticus 24:16? Just arbitrarily pick the Verses you like? We're talking about the Law of God here, you know. Why would God command us to kill blasphemers if He didn't want us to? Why would God have included Leviticus 24:16 in the Law? Please answer me these questions.

Also, The Bible says in many parts that we, as mere humans, have no right to judge who should live and die, go to heaven or go to hell, for it is only Gods right.

This is very dishonest of you. Brother Cranky provided lots of Scripture that disproves that assertion. I don't like people who ignore Scripture, and neither does God!

As you seem to be an adept reader of The Bible, I trust I don't need to quote the book here, for examples are abundant.

Or in other words, you can't really support your assertions with Scripture, and therefore you hope to cop out by lying about the Bible and hoping I won't notice.
