  • Learn a language and defy GOD!

God gave us seperate languages to restict our ability to communicate with others. This is clear from the factual account of the Tower of Babel,

    Genesis 11

1And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
2And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
3And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
4And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
5And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
6And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
7Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
8So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. 9Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

Clearly God does not want us to speak other languages. Learning a second language is directly against God's will. DO NOT let your children be taught other languages at school. One day you and they will be judged.

    Oh.

And what of the people what was bringed up speaking more than one?
Like me, for example. Spanish is my first language, and my mother side of the family (the Ladrón de Guevara's) are from Alcoy and Cocentaina so I was bringed up understaning Valenciano also. Is no my perfectly first lenguage like my spanish but I'm nearly bilinguist I think, even though I prefer speak in spanish I still, actually we all still talk whit bits of valenciano in our spanish some times like say my sister 'carinyet' or 'molt bé' or 'Adeu' or 'a vore' instead of 'cariño', 'muy bien' or 'Adiós' or 'a ver' cos is kind of 'afectionate' and cute, no?

And then there is my english what I'm learn now, so you can say I'm speak 2 and half lenguagtes really.

    Must I stop learn english?

Surely this idea of yours is a little 'interpratative' or 'selve-interpretations' and no really so true. I mean, think of all the peoples in the worlds what speaks 2 or 3 lenguagtes!

Are you say God hate that!??! I'm mean He invented Hebreow and Arab and spanish and egipcian before that He invent American.

    I'm confuse here!?

AMEN Brother! HE wasn't kidding around when he went all Babylon on their butts.

I'm sure it is common knowledge that the word "babble" is based on GOD'S wrath that he brought upon the sinners of Babylon.

HE also does not approve of race mixing. I'm sure it's darn near impossible to court someone you can't even understand. HE is so smart. HE thinks of everything for us so we don't get in trouble. No wonder I LVE HIM so!

Re: Learn a language and defy GOD!

The Lord was very mysterious around Babel

Gen 10:5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.
Gen 10:20 These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.
Gen 10:31 These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.

So we see that immediately after the Flood, there were many languages. God gives Noah the Earth as his. Noah passes it on to his sons. But God is a God of Bonus Gifts! Yes! He gives all of Noah’s son’s one language.

Gen 11:1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

But, what is this? Oh Dear! What did we do? We started causing trouble for God

Gen 11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

So God goes about His Plan

Gen 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
Gen 11:8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
Gen 11:9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

We see in Genesis 10 that there were many languages but by the time that Genesis 11 opens, there is only one.

This is a Godly Gift that we turned down (all except those who now speak American.) First we had many languages, then there was a brief period of having one uniting language and then it went back to having many languages*.

It is God’s will that foreigners will never speak American properly.

*Do you see the parallel in way that God created Paradise in Eden but, because of sin, he closed the place down?

Look at all of those sinful atheist countries, don't they all speak multiple languages? If that isn't proof that Brother Jack is right, I don't know what is.

Re: Learn a language and defy GOD!

I'd say, in essence, Brother Jack is right.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying ban all other languages.

Other languages are useful, especially for initial contact with heathen subspecies, so they have their utility.

Also, as a language buff myself, I CAN appreciate the beauty of the workings of languages like American (see my sig) and how it was an improvement on the existing Anglic languages for ther greater glory of God.

Another thing though is that so many foreigners (I'm not native myself but am quite fluent in American) just can't seem to get their substandard tongues round it. A good case in point would be the many trolls we get here or even Miss Gálvez-Villalobos, who takes language GBH almost to the point of linguisticide. That wasn't meant to be offensive - just stating a fact. We do make an effort to understand her as she gives the Engliksh tongue as severe a kicking as any English football fan would be proud of meting out.

Nevertheless Dagos like María can always aspire to something higher and learning American will always be useful, especially if any of them make it to Heaven, so I'd say, if you already speak one, fair enough. If you only speak American, only learn Foreign for missionary purposes and then only as a contact language before hosing the KJV into them.

That's my advice. And well-done on the OP Brother Jack. I'm impressed.
