Introduction

Hello, my name is Ally. I go to a non-denomination church, but I have been looking for a more conservative traditional church. I am single and hope to be married to a true Christian man soon. I was saved when I was around 7, but I have grown closer to God a few years ago.
Here is one of my favorite Bible verses:


"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction." - Proverbs 1:7

Hello and to our forum, Ally! Why I'm not sure why would you chose a nondenominational church (to me it's sort of missing the point, like drinking decaf or eating veggie burgers), I really like your choice of favorite verse. Yes indeed - we have to fear God, this is exactly the emotion He wants from us.

Thank you Basilissa! Haha, I was raised in a non-denominational church. Hopefully I can find a good Baptist church around me or perhaps my future husband will lead me to one.

Your hope is misplaced if you are waiting on Lady Luck to help. You should be praying to Jesus to expose your flaws so you can repent and stop repulsing Him (Isaiah 64:6). Then, as He shines His Mercy upon you, He will guide you to exactly where He wants you to serve Him! Glory!

Dearie, RUN, do not walk, to your nearest Baptist church and tell the good pastor of your predicament. Shun that non-denominational place you've been visiting (I will not refer to it as a "church"), and forsake associating with the unsaved crowd there. Do your best to please God in all your ways and do not argue with men of wisdom; the pastor will guide you. Only then will you find God's blessing with a godly marriage. And NEVER forget this, unless you want to thwart God's blessing for a good marriage: Proverbs 21:9 " It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house."

I'm a little concerned about your future husband. Where did you meet him? If you're not already attending a Baptist Church it can't be there and although a Christian who believed in Jesus may theoretically exist somewhere else (such as in Saudi Arabia where Baptist Churches are difficult to find) clearly you met him somewhere else. I hope it wasn't at a fairground creep-a-thon such as The Rotor!

I'm sure that as unbelievers many here have ridden the things and will recall the antics of idiots turning themselves upside down or trying to climb out the top (which seems very difficult but could score bonus points if you were looking for a husband) and at least she's not wearing a dress. In this example they just hang there. Very disappointing (as her face shows rather plainly) but I'm not suggesting you met your future husband in a rotor. Perhaps you could clarify.

I don’t think it’s entirely beyond around the possibility that she is looking at the rotor as a source of romance. However I will be praying that she takes the advice of others and immediately seeks out a Baptist church.

At my church there are scads of young heterosexual men who are in desperate need of a female touch in their lives. Truly only a good Christian woman could satisfy their longing. Perhaps the good sister needs to move to New York City with her father‘s permission.

Then again. There are several other cities in the United States where a good man can be found. The ratio of heathens to normal is high in New York as you know so it may not be the best place to look.

Yeah, I don't know if New York City would be any better than where I am at. I am in crazy SoCal, so I do want to move, with my father's permission of course. But I am sure your church would be a wonderful church to be a part of. I have hoped to move from under my father's house right into my husband's house though, so I would always be under a Head... And unfortunately I am an old maid, so I am looking for a older gentleman. I do have a few child bearing years left though.

Hello and welcome. For your spiritual betterment, I feel the need to point out that you cannot actually be Saved at the moment. Women can only be Saved by accepting Jesus AND providing Him with soldiers. You need to become a True Christian and then get married and give birth to children (1 Timothy 2:15). This is the only way for you to get into Heaven. I will pray that this is the course you will take.
