  • Why is "Sambo" a racist term?

I called a young negroid man "Sambo" as a fun and friendly name. Apprently he got all bent out of shape (as young darkies tend to over the most trivial issues) that I called him such an offensive term.

I thought it was a nice name, growing up we had a Sambo's restaurant in the town near where I grew up that had the best breakfasts I have ever had!

    Did I do something wrong?

Not at all, not at all! You just found some touchy jigaboo. Sambo is a term of affection, one of my favorite bedtime stories (all those years ago) was this:

thats bolony!.. calling a black man sambo is like calling a mexican wetback.. next time you might not be so lucky you might get popped in the face for saying the wrong thing.. so i advise you now stop reffering to black people as sambos, negroids, and darkies..

The Little Black Sambo books were my husbands favourites when he was a child. He especially liked the story where the tigers chase each other around the tree until they churn into butter.

These stories had morals to them, I really don't understand why people are against them. Then again people think that the Grimm stories are evil and put Disney endings on all of them.

No thanks, I read my children the old stories. Fortunately books were so well bound long ago that they actually last. I hope to pass them on for my grandchildren to be read them one day.

Are you another uppity Darkie? What's your problem? Do you think that Messican'ts don't have their own name for nigras, or that nigras don't have their word for injuns?

Our kike lawyers call me Gentile and Slants call their white master "Gwai-lo" Do I get upset? No! As long as they turn out those cheap cotton garments, they still get paid.

Praise you Sister! I read that comment and immediately Jesus brought up in my heart and mind a sweet little chant we said as a child "Inka inka bottle of ink, cork fell out and you stink. Catch a nigger by his toe if he hawlers make him pay..." I can't remember all of it but it brings sweet innocent memories back!

Re: Why is "Sambo" a racist term?

I have always thought the name 'Sambo' was a nice name. Certainly a lot better than 'Tynesikawallawallabingbang'.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Re: Why is "Sambo" a racist term?

Sambo in the story was a pretty savvy Indian kid (India Indian) who outsmarted a bunch of hungry, hungry tigers to avoid being eaten!

Anyone insulted by being called 'Sambo' is probably feeling it is being used sarcastically since in their own heart of hearts, they know themselves to be unworthy of the moniker 'Sambo'.

Jud 1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are unGodly among them of all their unGodly deeds which they have unGodly committed, and of all their hard [speeches] which unGodly sinners have spoken against him.

BIG is right, these were my favorite stories when I was a child. I also enjoyed Uncle Toms Cabin when I got older. It's an excellent story about how constantly bending to somebody else's will, will eventually break you.
PROOF: Atheists are too stupid to understand the Bible!

Proverbs 13:24(KJV): "He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes."

Galatians 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

I had that as a read-along book! The books came with a 45RPM record and you read along with the book while the record played.

I loved those books, unfortunately they're long gone.

We had that at our house. The Disney label is the clincher!
