I'm sorry, but ever since Trump was in Iowa for the caucus, and our church invited him to Freehold to put the imprint of his hands in that square of wet cement, I have been steaming about this.

The Freehold Walk of Fame has ALWAYS been for True Christians™, and True Christians™ only!


You know I am never one to question our pastors' judgment, but this time I feel they have missed the mark.

Clearly this man is not a real Christian, and does not deserve the honor we have given him. Forgive me for saying so, but I can't help but think all those golf junkets and Cuban cigars our pastors have received may have clouded their judgment.

I have also had serious doubts about Mr. Trump, which I have voiced here on this forum on more than one occasion. Mr. Trump may or may not be a Christian and he may or may not be good Presidential material, but this one thing is certain: Donald Trump is a loud mouthed Yankee and there is no denying that.

The sidewalk leading to the public restroom outside of the Popeye's is not much of a 'Walk of Fame' but hey... in a one streetlight town whose Mayor's office doubles as a slaughterhouse I suppose it is better than nothing.

Mr. Trump is about as Christian as Tom Cruise is a Baptist (Cruise has a full set of teeth so...).

The man is playing you, and other hayseeds of your ilk, like a fine Violin in the hands of Joshua Bell. If his comment about two Corinthians and one cup wasn't a tip-off I don't know what was but surely by now his Protestant posturing has become as obvious as the horns on Michelangelo's Moses.

Between his failed marriages, countless affairs and lavish lifestyle, there is ample evidence that he has never been and will never be a Christian. Be honest now, the only real Christian who was running was Rick (not that) Santorum. Sadly, his support has dried up and he has been wiped from the slate of Republican candidates although we can be sure his influence has left a bit of Santorum in every candidate's thoughts.

Perhaps you should start a 'draft Newt' campaign. He at least had the decency to have one of his marriages annulled.

Padre Maurice--You need to deal with the facts here. These facts are the Donald says he always attends church on Christmas Eve and Easter. That puts him in the sincere category of Christian. There are plenty of people who when asked, "Are you a Christian?" would answer yes but don't attend church as often as Donald. He's the real deal when it comes to worshipping Jesus.

On this big flap of "2 Corinthians" he didn't say "3 Corinthians". This man knows Bibles. He has a collection of them.

I'm not absolutely sure about this, but I think Donald would protect Catholics from angry mobs.

It's always nice to hear the Vatican "spin" on things, but most have grown immune to the tiresome drivel. One thing you can say about the Protestants is that they have been fighting the Vatican hegemony since 1517.

It does look like her face has more stretch-marks than Octomom's tummy but remember that she too was a Baptist prior to finding the light of Catholic teaching. Also, as a Baptist she had quite a drinking problem and being dyslexic ended up in some difficulty after confusing detox with Botox.

As for Newt... he is now a respected elder statesman of the G.O.P. and word has it that if Trump gets elected he will nominate Gingrich for a Supreme Court seat in the usual manner of Republican Presidents who vasty favor good Catholic lads for the highest court in the land.

Once somebody explains to him that Roe vs. Wade has nothing to do with fly fishing and caviar it should all work out.

This is all unofficial, I want you to understand, but here is the deal. Donald wants the Pope to call him and make an appointment to meet Donald. Donald will make room for the Pope in his schedule, even if it means the Pope will get on Donald's bus after one campaign stop and get off at the next stop. They could talk on the way. The Pope should know there are cigars and brandy on the bus.

Afterwards, in exchange for the bus ride, Donald would like an endorcement from the Pope.

Please help me understand this. Why would Trump want an endorsement from a catholic? Wouldn´t it offend the True Christians(TM) to see The Donald choosing for a (in their eyes) false religion? Is it because a lot of people have heard about the pope?

I think a more logical choice would be to seek endorsement from a well known True Christian(TM) like Jeffrey Dahmer. What do I miss?

Mr. Trump, through several of his rather better placed minions, has made a number of attempts to reach his Holiness. Pope Francis has agreed to hear Mr. Trump's confession when the Pontiff has a few weeks to spare. However, given The Pope's busy schedule and Mr. Trump's preference to not travel to Mexico, where his Holiness is currently visiting, any chance of this is most unlikely.

There have been talks to the effect that Benedict is interested in handling these confession duties, from one German to another, but he is currently dealing with his brother's various misunderstandings of the last three decades.
