    2 Corinthians 6:14

"Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?"

Always proper to remind the unsaved that communing with the dark, be it dark actions, thoughts or people is never a good idea. To be a part of the Light means not being associated with Dark things. This verse ends in a question. A question that Jesus is the answer to. Sweet blue eyed Jesus can wash away your sins and grant you access to the executive suites in Heaven. But only if you accept His Holy love and stop messing with the darkness. Only the whitest of spirits and the most unvaccinated will recieve Him in their end. So sayeth the Lord, praise Jesus.

Those who commune with darkness may do so for different reasons. One is blasted by an intergenerational curse. Another got on the LSD and went to rave orgies. A third consumed red wine, beheld strange women and uttered perverse things.

Proverbs 23:31, 32, 33 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.

The LSD "fruit punch" and inevitable carryings-on, if consumed by a life partner, give yet another reason to avoid yoking. God understood this well in advance and informed us – just as He informed us of historical episodes, one in particular that we don't need to dwell on Genesis 9:22, 24, 25. The gravity of the situation is highlighted in that Canaan, who was not even present, is shattered to this day in his descendants.

Now many say, ‘‘Oh, that never happened,’’ or ‘‘Wow, man, God is such a baby..’’ but never seem able to support their claims. And it's all there in The Bible, recorded so that we'd know to shun 1. red liquor, 2. avoid persons intoxicated although not drunk and 3. identify the status otherwise of those to whom we may be yoked. Or thinking of being yoked to. Dissing God is to scoff at the happiness He planned for us, clearly set out in The Bible, all those years ago.

That passage often linked to Second Epistle to the Corinthians is really about encouraging believers to be mindful of the influences they align themselves with and to live in a way that reflects their faith. It speaks symbolically about light and darkness as righteousness versus wrongdoing, rather than targeting or excluding people. The core message in the teachings of Jesus Christ emphasizes love, humility, and compassion toward others, not superiority or division based on personal traits or choices, so it’s best understood as a call to live faithfully while still treating others with respect and grace.

The problem that the Bible has is not "what a passage means" but "what people think it means".

You have in the first post above, the meaning. Anything else is excessive and or wrong. It really is as simple as that. The other problem is "their faith" - you perhaps did not intend it, but that is open to the suggestion that there is more than one valid faith: This is simply not so. There is the Bible that gives page after page of guidance and yet still Satan puts it into people's minds that an ordinary person might wake up one morning and suddenly decide that a woman could become a pastor!

Corinthians speaks to those of the purest faith, e.g. the tithing congregation of Landover Baptist, who are "One in Christ": there is no dissent, no revolutionary ideas, in fact there is nothing but God's Word, which is truly clear.

Can you imagine what it would be like to engage in a conversation with, say, a methodist? He would be full of lies and deceit, false "interpretations".

The verse echoes the Serpent in Eden and advises you keep away from them.

It does not stop you consorting with thieves and ne’er-do-wells: Jesus Himself did this, but he was there to instruct - not listen to sacrilegious garbage.

            I hope this helps.

Are you suggesting that wrongdoers be included in The Congregation Of The LORD?

Deuteronomy 22:30 – 23:2 A man shall not take his father's wife, nor discover his father's skirt. He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD. A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.
