Re: A trick for converting secular-raised children

Ever played a game of "telephone"? Where you pass on a message via whispers from ear to ear, until the end result is so disported it has nothing to do with the original message?

Great way to explain how false "translations" of the Bible are made. ("translations" - as if God is some kind of immigrant who can't learn English!)

What? Are you serious? How about living a loving life that like Jesus? He didn't "trick" people into following him.

Who's trying to trick anyone here, friend?

The Bible is not a trick.

Their parents have tricked them into believing there is no God. I am just putting them straight with Jesus.

And why are you so concerned about the child/parent relationship? Jesus wasn't concerned by that. He knew the most important thing is to praise and follow Him.

I know God wouldn't let me believe in Him if He didn't exist.

Yes and he's as real as Santa or Little Red Riding Hood.

Sure Jesus isn't real. He's a myth just like Santa or Darth Wader. In fact the name 'Jesus' or 'Joshua' was very common in Bronze-Age Middle East and there were hundreds of 'Jesuses' and hundreds of Rabbi preachers migrating through the country. It's like the myth of Atlantis and also has got a book and a reality based core and many bed-times stories formed around over the centuries. So, it's even worse than Darth Wader.

Please show the real life bases for "Darth Wader" (I assume you mean George Lucas' Darth Vader) and Plato's Atlantis.

Again, you claim Jesus doesn't exist, prove it. Simple saying "lack of historical record" doesn't cut it. NO ONE in the ancient world life was documented unless they were a king or someone important. Even people like Julius Caesar have huge chunks missing from their biographies.

And who is going to document Jesus when He lived? His fellow Jewish peasants? They were illiterate. Of the elites The Jewish priests viewed Christ as a heretic and the Romans as a rebel.
