Friend, we take the Bible very seriously, this is no joke.

Rev Osbourne was showing the obvious to those who have rejected the Bible and God's Holy Word....those who are too lazy to actually read these days.

He is obviously mistaken about the world and the principles that exist in and around it and anyone who actually believes his 3 'proofs' are too lazy to see for themselves that he is wrong. We are born with a mind that should think not follow blindly to the slaughter. I can't believe there are people still living in the middle ages mentally, thinking the earth is flat and misappropriating gravity to apply externally to the globe rather than internally as it actually does, and even making the huge mistake to point out about what is in view when one gets up high? Up high in a jet the horizon takes on a curved view, disproving the flat earth nonsense before one even needs to take to space.

Now I take this very seriously too and would like to believe the Bible but if there is one place in the Bible that is incorrect, then we cannot trust the rest for it has been corrupted by man or as some believe contrived entirely by man.

From first kings it has been argued that pi is 3 and not the correctly measured thousands of times in reality, 3.1415926535...

So there is one place the Bible is WRONG. Therefore I trust none of it to be absolute truth. It is not without merits however. We can rely on it as a collection of stories intended to teach honesty, good morals etc. That's all and no more. No miracles, no omnipotent being, no life after death. You get one life and you better make the best of it. Believing in God as the foundation before one can adopt these good morals can be of use to guide those that need it, but it is not in itself proof of any deity, just that some of us need guidance and others made something up to help them.

You know what he meant by it... You are merely being difficult to frustrate him. It seems like a lot of the Christians on here do that to people to the point where they know they will be too flustered and frustrated to answer. Why? Wouldn't the Christian thing to do be to really listen everyone's point, and put yourself in their shoes to really understand where they are coming from? Then you can respond accordingly.

You only responded to the man's comment by trying to correct the historical timeline, instead of explaining lots of Christian's very extremely old way of thinking.

And by what moral compass do you glean that slavery is unjust? God spends a great deal of time telling us how to treat slaves properly. If we follow God's very detailed instructions it is impossible to treat slaves in a way that displeases Him.

Secular law, for the moment, forbids slavery but laws change and we now have a new breed of politician unafraid to campaign on a platform of restoring Christian values.

As for pi=3.00 - what's good enough for God...

First; I go by the philosophy "treat others the way you would want to be treated". I wouldn't want to be a slave, therefore I would never force another person to be a slave.

Second; I still don't understand the pi=3 thing, are you saying that pi actually is 3 or aren't you?

God hates science and so do we.

Third; I don't think you understand how most scientists work; their job isn't to prove or disprove God. They are driven by curiosity and the need to know something that they didn't know before. They devise experiments to try and find out what is happening in the world around us.

Scientist are just as likely to be religious as they are to be athiest, the difference between the two groups is that the religious ones find God to be full of wisdom in his designs; the intelect and imagination needed to create such a world is unmatched! Athiest scientists, on the other hand, just want to know what is happening, but they get just as much satisfaction out of the discovery as anyone else

Never, in any stage of the scientific process, is the existance of God questioned!
