I am sitting here trying to give you guys a chance and honestly trying hear what you have to say and you give me NOTHING relevent in return! Second, If you were in the back of a truck while it was traveling at 75mph, and you jumped straight up, NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN. You would land again in the back the truck. Do you know why? Because you are moving at 75mph as well! Come on, give me something here!

Have you guys actually listened to yourselves? Ive never seen jessus with my own eyes? Do you know what jesus was? he was good spokesman and story teller. dont discredit science just because it disproves religion. Read a little more into things before you make up experiments that make no sense in proving anything other than you are blind.

Now, scientists claim that Earth is spherical and rotating at a speed of between 700-1000 miles per hour, depending on your latitude. This is a very high rate of speed. You can disprove this nonsense by simply jumping up as high as you can. Really, it's that simple. What happens when you jump? You come straight down to where you were. But, if the Earth were indeed spinning at such a fast speed, wouldn't you land hundreds of feet away?

If you were to stand in the flat bed of a truck going 75 mph, and jump straight up, what would happen? You wouldn't fall straight down. You would fall out of the truck. That's because trucks move, the Earth doesn't. This experiment proves the Earth is fixed in space and doesn't move.

I'm so confused. I tried this on a public transit bus today while I was moving. Instead of the bus moving from underneath me, and me landing more towards the back, I landed in the same spot I jumped from! Can someone please explain how this can be? Could it be we are moving with the earth as it turns, and just like on the bus, we land on the same spot?

I have very easy explanation for it. You did not actualy tried it, you are making this up. However, if you want really to try it with bus you need to do it correctly. As we are not inside the earth, you need to go outside the bus as well. Go stand on the roof of the bus, ask someone accelerate bus to 65 miles per hour and then jump.

See how it goes and then come back to tell us what happened after you have actually tried it.

Im a God believing Christian however im struggling to wrap my head around this thread. Like seriously? The earth is not flat. Firstly I have family who work for the ukspaceagency who have seen first hand the shape of the earth.

Secondly if you really want to find out what shape the earth is do the following experiment

So you believe in God. So how old is the earth and how long did it take God to make it? How do you know? What is the firmament for? Again, how do you know? How was Adam created? Again, how do you know?

If your answers in any way dismiss 1 Genesis ask yourself why this is.

Read a book called ''Misquoting Jesus''...it basically talks about changes that ancient scribes made to the New Testament and shows the great impact they had upon the Bible we use today.

I believe science and god can co-exist.... as for your question about when the earth was created .i really don't want to open this can of worms and upset people ..but in short dinosaurs where around before 10,000 years ago.

As for your last few question your asking for a blind belief which is fine but once again i like to think science and god are but the same thing which we just cant explain yet...just be open minded only then will you people be enlightened.
