Your understanding of science is horribly horribly wrong. Scientists will get sick when they see you in action. If you use assumptions to prove things, you can prove absolutely anything.

E.g. assuming aliens from the planet Zork control our government would explain why they get nothing done.

So stop assuming and start reading the Holy Bible to get the actual facts!

You got me wrong there, I am not disproving the bible, I am disproving the original poster because he has made the big mistake of devising actual experiments, not quoting the holy book. Which seems to be a topic about which he does know nothing.

My opinion about your congnitive abilities have been laid out in threads about Denmark and Ireland and by extension they are valid her too since you are the same person. If you don't understand something, there is no shame in asking questions. You may know more about the bible than I do, but I knew MUCH MUCH MUCH more about science experiments than you, the original poster and half of the true christians on this forum combined after I left elementary school. Your understanding of science is very limited, which is understandable given that your mental capabilities are very limited, but the problem is going to solve itself sooner or later. In todays modern age of technology knowledge of the holy bible is not a markatableskill, the science stuff (roughly most of what you condemn as satanistic is science, whereas what you claim to be science is mere belief) is actually what drives our economy. Since you have no markatable skills whatsoever and the USA's welfare system is very barebone, for lack of another word, people like you are simply going to die out.

The other posters later basically used the bible to claim that when the experiments fail, it is due to the work of the devil. So in order to prove empirically that the bible is right, they didn't use an experiment, but the bible, which

1. is ultimately circular logic
2. most importantly, defeats the purpose of using an experiment which is what the original poster tried to do

It is very easy to disprove my arguments scientifically if they are wrong. In the 1st part I clearly demonstrated through the use of vector algebra that the experiment the original poster suggested was unsuitable to show that the earth is not spherical. If you point out where my modelling is incorrect or where I miscalculated, you have disproven me using scientific methods. BTW, to disprove the original poster, you don't need a PhD. Highschool is sufficient.

Well, you got it right that a scientific theory is considered true as long as their evidence to back it up and no evidence to overthrow it. And evidence means empirical evidence, independent of the observer, repeatable, not the holy bible. The next part of your sentence does not make sense. In how far shall a theory back up evidence?

Today's modern technology allows us to shoot satellites into space that take pictures, where we see the shape of the earth. Which, by the way, has already been done.

Otherwise, since we have a day/night cycle, the earth is actually spinning. Now, if we had a flat earth, shaped like a coin (which is OP's original hypothesis), there are two ways the earth could rotate - either along it's short or along any of the two long rotation axis. In the former case, if you leave the small rim of the earh "coin" you would experience different centrifugal forces

I haven't exaxtly thought through how the gravitational force field would look like for a coinshaped earth, feel free to do so. Maybe the balance of force would kick you into a certain direction.

If the earth was rotating about one of the long axis, a similar effect would kick in. Those spots on farthest away from the rotation axis would experience the biggest centrifugal force whereas those close the the center of the coin would experience virtually none.

Science is about providing a description of our surrounding, consistent with logic and empirical evidence. If you are looking for science to keep your immortal soul (wether or not you have one has not been proven or disproven by science, I think) happy. If that's what you take religion for, sure, go for it. As long as you don't ascribe a thousands of years old book any scientific accuracy, when the limits of scientific accuracy are being pushed virtually every day, that's fine.

You're confused, dear. Science is the one constantly changing. The information found in the Holy Bible that describes the natural world around us has only been confirmed and reconfirmed over time. So-called scientific discoveries, on the other hand, are forever being abandoned in pursuit of the next fashionable theory. So one can trust one source which has been proven accurate, or one can trust a fallible human who will be disagreed with by other fallible humans. It's all about knowing who to trust, dear, and why.
