I think you've misunderstood where I'm from. I am not from America and so I have not had a chance to have the wool pulled over my eyes.

I'll explain to you the reason I think that spacetravel is possible, or, at the very least, why planets and stars exist beyond the dome of the sky. It is because I have used a teloscope. I don't mean that Ive simply looked through one, I know that won't prove anything to you, but have studied how they work. I know that if you have two objects at different distances away, one may appear blured whilst the other appears focused. This gives me a crude way of measuring depth - how blury something is through a telescope. It looks to me as if there is a space outside of the earth that can be reached. I believe in space travel because I see no reason why people can't get up that high.

But I feel that we've diverged from the original point; I may have contradicted the bible with my study with a telescope, but I did not question Gods existance in doing so and I have not made any statement claiming that I had!

I must ask as to one of your comments, though. You say that missions to space where faked (I have no strong feelings one way or the other on this subject, just to be clear), but then you say that the government wasted billions of dollars on space missions. Pardon the question, but what do you think the money was spent on if not traveling (or trying to travel) to space?

Finally, may I point out that quoting scripture to me will not add much to your argument; it would be the same as me quoting a textbook I have about Medical Physics to you.

so then how do you know it to be truth? you cannot just make a claim such as "There is a god" without proof that it is true. Otherwise i could say that there is such thing as a hundred foot tall purple dragon that has 1000 eyes that is invisible, and it would be considered true until you disproved it.

Claims without evidence can be dismissed immediately.

faith impedes progress. without progress, we would not have modern medicine, architecture, safety standards, and all other technology... religion has literally done nothing productive in the past 5000 years besides donate an insignificant amount of money every once in a while to a charity.
