4 guys wrote the bible 40-70 years after Jesus died, if Jesus actually existed.
What is interesting to me is that Jesus was forgotten for 40 years after his death, then Paul started preaching his way, but Paul never once mentions ANY of the miraculous things Jesus did...he just mentions how he died and rose to the sky...all of the miracles were added by Matthew and crew, which makes sense, in that it was fashionable to shower divine attributes on persons one wanted to promote. Also interesting that the story of Jesus has 22 things in common with the story of Hercules, and 30 other mythical entities. But for some strange reason, 42% of Americans still believe in this one myth.
All that being said, some of the more loving preachings attributed to Jesus are harmless and I'm sure helpful in the tough spots of life, but a lot of the bible is purely violent, with non-believers getting chopped up, and whole cities of women, children, men, and dogs getting nuked.
There may be a creator, just as modern humans create things daily, but the creator described in the bible is more like a mad dictator that hugs his children and slays his dissenting neighbors.
I'll stop there to give you guys a chance to debate.
Looking forward to some lively conversation.

The book of Genesis was evidently part of the one original writing (the Torah), and it was possibly completed by Moses in the wilderness of Sinai in the year 1513 B.C.E. After Genesis 1:1, 2 (relating to the creation of the heavens and the earth), the book evidently covers a span of thousands of years involved in the preparation of the earth for human habitation and thereafter it covers the period from man’s creation on down to the year 1657 B.C.E., when Joseph died.

I should have been more specific...I was referring to the books that included Jesus...so the new testament.

This website embodies the problem we face in the modern era, where we have all these religions that have resulted in bloodshed for all of written human history. The argument of "you are with us or against us" will only result in the end of the human race through war.

And added a bunch of awe inspiring acts to give Jesus a divine connection.
I'm trying to figure out why you hold on to it?

Well you don't hold on to anything, you have had to drop all of your views in your first sentence because they were so laughable.

We latch on the Christianity because,

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The only other option is Hell.
Mark 9:46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

We follow the Bible for that is the only way to Heaven. If that stresses people so what? They will we more stressed when their skin is peeling off in the fire that is not quenched.

Read your Bible and accept Jesus before it is too late,

Here, I'll just lay it out for you.

Your key to heaven was written by humans, about a god that is not very likable, and if you don't follow this god you go to an eternal fire.

So you are ruled by fear and guilt.

Why? If this is the truth, then how can life on earth get better?

If I were to join you, then all of days are spent appeasing a god that may or may not exist in an afterlife that may or may not exist.

I just don't get it...and please don't quote the bible to defend the bible.

It just doesn't work.
