I know I'm not in Satans grasp, for I dismiss his existance. I have done no evil (as far as me and my friends are concerned) in my life to prove Satan has a hold on me.

You could have easily dismissed everything we said and gone back to your heathen ways, but nope, you had to join our board to tell us how WRONG we are and that we should all go out and buy our kids demonic toys.

I'm posting this because I feel it's necessary to at least point this out to everyone on this thread. I am 21 years old and have played and watched Pokemon since I was very young. I am a christian and attend bible studys, help with children in not so fortunate upbringings around us, I've attended several mission trips and have done my best to help convert people as much as I can. I also have several friends who enjoy the series and one who is even training to become a missionary. I'm not the best christian in the world, I make mistakes and have problems just like everyone of you. I won't fight you with that movie trailer, yes someone who was very twisted made that trailer, but that isn't even real. That's not how the Pokemon show or game go, but it something stupid that someone made probably by someone like you guys who go around bashing people for what they watch.

I have read the Bible several times, though I am no expert, I do know that the Bible says not to judge people or you will be judged. I don't see a problem with warning people about this, as there are some problems with Pokemon, but there are just as many problems with everything else, including movies, television, commercials, magazines, internet, etc. Where the problem comes in and where I've gotten really mad at this thread, is that you are practically condemning people just because they enjoy a video game, television show or a card game and telling them they are going to Hell because of it.

God is a loving God and he loves us for how we are. I agree with the person who had responded a while ago when he said that the only real thing that God cares about is what we do with our lives, our acceptance of Him and to spread the gospel to the world. How are you bringing glory to God's name by bashing these people for what they enjoy doing. I had never heard of the kids killing people for Pokemon cards, but people do that with everything, not that it makes it okay. Should we ban the great efforts of generations before us, because some people are twisted and try to find the evil in everything? Doesn't this mean that by making a thread on this website, that you are not promoting people to get on the internet and to find more "evils" that are also on the internet?

It's really sad that there are christians and people like you out there that go around and doing this to people. This is the problem and is the exact reason why we are having such problems bringing people to the Lord. Non-christians look at people like you and go, I don't want to turn into people like that and judge people that way (this isn't the only reason why they go against it, but it is an example), so they turn the other cheek and go about and do what they want. There are evils everywhere, granted I have never raised a child, but the point of parenting is not that we shelter our kids from the evils of this world, but rather to help them grow and deal with them and to show that there is goodness and love in everything, because there is no real way to shield them. We must raise them to deal with the things and people of this world, not to ignore them.

Pokemon was made by people in a different country and was created based on the creators love of catching bugs when he was younger, that was the viewpoint when it was first created. Japan is all about cute things, which is why they are so adorable. It's amazing that people in this world can take everything fun and turn it into something outrageous like this thread. There were also people that found that if they sat and paid attention long enough that they can find x amount of the word 'sex' in several of the Disney movies and therefore those are also evil. This is why our world is so corrupted.

I am not condemning anyone here, everyone is right to their own opinion, but I did want to point out that just because you don't agree with what someone is doing, doesn't give you the right to tell them they are going to Hell, pastor or not. Just because you don't understand the fascination with this series, doesn't mean you should bash people because of it and certainly not put them down and put God's name in your bash. You are putting word's into God's mouth, whether you realize it or not, when you say that you can't be a christian and enjoy Pokemon. I urge you to find a verse in the Bible that says that things of that nature are evil.

I thank God that he is not as evil as you make him out to be as a person who condemns people the way you are doing because of something they enjoy.

Sorry if this sounds mean, but I just felt that I was led to bring this to your attention, just as you have about this warning. Please make a thread of your own in the "Introductions" section of the forum, so that we can properly greet you. Tell us about yourself, your church, and how you came to find Jesus.

As Paul said in 1 Corinthians chapter 15, he was the least of all apostles, because he once persecuted God's own people, yet through God's grace he was still given another chance. God forgives. We as people are not in any position to bring or fathom what God is capable of. We only know, through the Bible, what God HAS done. What God CAN do we can not even grasp. I can see how one would believe Pokemon is against God's Holy Word, and it is very understandable why someone of great intelligence would come to this conclusion.

Romans 3:23 says for all have sin and come short of the glory of God. Again, I would like to say we are in a place where telling about God is the best we can do with God. We are not meant to bring about judgment to others. Matthew 7:2 says for the way you judge others, you will be judged and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Our actions on earth do no matter at all. Our works, our abilities, everything we accomplish on earth means NOTHING if we are not saved by God's grace. Jesus is the only treasure we should seek on earth. To be like Jesus is to give everyone a chance, no matter what someone thinks about them or what type of predicament they are in. Jesus would not turn down a chance to speak with anyone (this includes murderers, rapists, idolaters, extortionists, wicked people, any type of person). On many occasions Jesus did things out of the norm in His society. The annointing of Jesus feet (Matthew 26:6-13; Mark 14:3-9; Luke 7:36-50; John 12:1-8), the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4) were all abnormal things in Jesus time. Why would He give these people his time? Because Jesus loved them...warts and all!

The quote from John 13 tells His disciples to love one another. He even says it will be known by this action that they are His disciples. He is not telling them to love unsaved trash that hate God and Jesus.

I was going to comment on how the first post in part tells people to judge things by their appearance, meaning that classic "ugly" people are all evil, but forget it. I don't have anything to say if you guys are perfect and you show no love to sinners. The Jesus I know is willing to sit down with tax collectors so that they can be saved. The God I know mourns when even the lowest of sinners is condemned and rejoices when even one turns to him. (If you find this post to be extremely offensive and/or incoherent, feel free to blame Pokemon. I used to play the games but sort of got bored with games in general. I've never watched the anime regularly because it doesn't impress me and I never watch TV. Anyways, I still think the pokemon are cute, beautiful, or sometimes just sort of weird. Their abilities are more like those of superheroes than of any stylized media demons I've heard of. The makers even said that the whole idea came about because kids like superheroes and kids like animals, so why not combine the two? The "obsessive" collection aspect came from a Japanese boy's hobby- insect collecting. What a fine way to explore God's creation! The original idea was quite pure, but, over time, worse things leaked in. Most tv shows are pretty inappropriate these days. While the games are not immune, they are far more wholesome than, say, Yugioh, which doesn't hide the fact that it uses demons, or, say, Grand Theft Auto, which is apparently just a carnival of violence. I can't comment on the toys, because I don't play with toys. I can say that I have never, ever met a three-year old boy who was a perfect little angel and never disrespected his elders. Most of them are absolutely atrocious and get into trouble if you stop watching them for three seconds, and I still love them. They do this when they have toys, but they do it even more when they have no toys to distract them from sticking their fingers in the electrical outlets.)

Dont you think you're going very far? Pokemon is just a game, in excess it can be bad like any game but when played normally it definetly isnt.
If children had to follow all the rules on this site then they'll most likely commit suicide out of boredom or try to run away, banning things is a very bad way for solving things, if you want to stop your child from doing something, you dont beat him/her and ban him/her from doing it, this will only generate hate and will make him/her do that in secret.
I used to play pokemon (and still do sometimes) and Im normal like everyone else, and I never thought about that "poke-a-man" thing, like I said, you're taking it too far.

You folks do realize that 95% of the anti religious stuff about pokemon is made up right. 70% of pokemon "Evolutions" are more like metamorphasis or genetic mutation which doesn't pass on through generations( breeding). . You folks sound intolerant. God isnt going to Damn us for tiny things Once we're in we are in for good! In other words We arn't saved through good works we do good works because we are saved! and you folks are more busy fighting amongst yourselves to try to minister to others. In all my years dozens of mormons and Jehovahs witness' have knocked on my door. This cult called the Moonies who feel they must fundraise to get to heaven and whose leader arranges marriges for money have been following me for months. If we all were as devoted as these cultists we would have converted half the stinking country by now!

Oh and by the way Ive been a Christain since I was 4 and attended church weekly until the church my father was the MAIN PASTOR of closed down due to increased rent and the death of the main benefactor simultaneously.
