The scripture just quoted shows that people with diseases are people who refuse to pray. God commands us to pray. Disease is one of the consequences of refusing to pray and obey God. How is that not a punishment?

I'm not sure if the unsaved realise that it isn't necessarily the afflicted person who committed the sin that is being punished.
Exodus 34:7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

Perhaps this is why they become angry because they think it is unfair. When they realise it is God's will they have no grounds for complaint.

Amen, Brother! The Bible is such a wonderful book because it shows us how our moral intuitions are almost always mistaken. For example, I would have thought it was wrong to punish the sons of perpetrators, or to take a woman's last two mites when I have miraculous powers to create anything I want including mites, or to slaughter ten innocent people because they live in the neighborhood of sinful people, or to kill a child for being disobedient, or to sell a rape victim to her rapist, or any of the things that the Bible teaches. But God was benevolent enough to share His omniscient wisdom with us. Think, what ignorant and immoral savages we would be without the Bible!

Indeed. And we probably have to point out to this heathen that 3rd to 4th generation is even mild, compared to what happens to bastards!

            Deuteronomy 23:2
A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.

              1. So you're telling us that it's a genetic disorder, but not a sickness? Way to remain internally consistent, sunshine.

              2. Do you plan at any point to answer my question about supporting your position with Scripture? When you make an assertion, you have the burden of proof.

If you want to debate these people, you're going to have to step up your game. As you've seen, they can back up anything they say, no matter how outrageous, with several Bible passages; so far, I can't say the same for you. When you ignore their requests to back up what you say with the Bible, you're only making yourself look worse.

Do you suggest that deformity of the brain is not sickness?

Would you say someone who is insane is "mentally ill"? I think you would.

Sickness and infirmity of the body (such as lameness) both are healed by God. That would include infirmities of the brain, as it is part of the body.

The following is for both of you (LovePoliticalCorrectness and Devilslittlehelper):

Let's try a little logical exercise, OK?

God, as we all know, is all-knowing and all-powerful. Right?
He created the entire universe; that's pretty powerful.
Therefore, God knows if your little brother is going to be born with Down Syndrome. Right?

God also is perfectly capable of repairing the damage to your little brother's chromosomes. Right?

But -- lo and behold, He does not!

He knows about it. He can fix or prevent it. He chooses not to.

                  Therefore . . .

                  wait for it . . .

It is GOD'S WILL that your little brother have Down Syndrome!

The question you should be asking yourself is not, "Why do these people think Down Syndrome is anything but a horrible disease?"

You should be asking yourself, "Why did God choose to smite my little brother? Was it because of his own sins in the womb? Was it to teach my parents a lesson, as He did with Trig Palin because Sarah was running for office? And how can I learn from this to avoid a similar fate?"
                  Bible boring? Nonsense!

I know when my child was born with the retarded mongolism I repented greatly. My husband beat me appropriately since clearly he could not be at fault. You may call down syndrome a "mental illness" but it's not an illness in a conventional sense, that is, it's not like a cold, the flu or chicken pox which I'm sure everyone reading has had at least one of.

Everybody gets unwell in their life, but gets better again, people with down syndrome have it from day one and it's not something that gets better over time.
Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done
abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Do you think the man who was possessed of demons in Mark 5:1-17 would have just "gotten better" on his own had Jesus not cast them out?

If you believe that, which you clearly do, then you'll agree with me that to be "possessed with demons" is worse than a cold, or flu etc.

Likewise, some people are diagnosed with cancer which in many cases, is terminal.

What I'm trying to say is, not all illnesses, if that's what you want to call them, are equal, or comparable, few people in their life will be "possessed with demons" whereas an overwhelming majority of people will get the illnesses I mentioned, and of those, an overwhelming majority will recover.

Stop talking nonsense. There are no such things as "illnesses." That's secular mumbo-jumbo which is bunk terminology for what the symptoms really are: demons.

Even the pope listens when Landover speaks.

Here we see the enlightened attitude expressed on our pages being taken up by the church of Rome: even they cannot deny the truth.

Note how, by denying the mong Holy Communion, the Catholic church effectively says that the gimp is destined for Hell's Eternal Fires.

That should make little "Denum" (if that is his name) pull his ideas together and start behaving normally!
Church refuses boy with Down's syndrome Holy Communion.

The parents of a boy with Down's syndrome have criticised the Roman Catholic Church for not allowing him to take his first Holy Communion.

In a letter to Clare Ellarby, the Diocese of Leeds said her son Denum, seven, had "limited concentration" and was not prepared for the experience.

Mrs Ellarby, from Batley, said: "It's just disgusting. I feel really let down by the Catholic faith."

The diocese said it hoped Denum would be able to participate in the future.

Denum attends St Mary's Catholic Primary School and St Mary's Catholic Church in Batley.

In its letter, the diocese said Denum had "limited concentration, doesn't really access the RE curriculum and does not enjoy going to Mass".

                                Family tradition
It said if Denum took his first Holy Communion when he was "better placed to understand" it would "enrich his whole experience".

Mrs Ellarby said: "I have been in that Catholic church all my life, as a child I went there every Sunday.

"I can't get there every Sunday now, it's difficult with Denum and I have got a younger child.

"But generations of my family have been baptised, made our Holy Communion, we had our marriage blessing there and we feel really let down."

The diocese said children could "only proceed to the sacrament of first Communion when they take part in the Church's life and understand the Church's faith".

"In regard to these sacraments Denum's family has not participated in the regular life of the Church or in the preparation preceding first Communion.

"We hope that this will change as Denum grows and we are working with him and his family to help him achieve this."
PS: I have been asked to remind everyone that this in no way endorses anything about the Whore of Satan, The church of Rome or the Antichrist who sits in his fish-hat on the 7 Hills of Rome (see Revelations for further information)

I have also been asked to point out that Landover is sorry that Denum's parents chose to have their son excommunicated by Rome, rather than by a True Christian Baptist Church.
