I'm sorry, perhaps I shouldn't be so blunt, but that's the way I am. I don't see the point in sugar coating things. So I'd like to say that this just makes me laugh because of its sheer absurdity:

Granted, not all of the things mentioned above will be 100% Christian and innocent 100% of the time. In fact, I can't even claim that the My Little Pony fanbase doesn't have less than its fair share of Homosexuals and Atheists, because it has them. But since when is that any different from the rest of the entire planet we live on? And how is saying that ALL of them are creeps being accurate in the slightest?

And finally, I'm going to constructively criticize this thread as a whole. How is talking this way about anyone going to help spread the Good News? How is telling a bunch of non-believers that they're going to burn in Hell doing anything but spreading hate and spite and ill-will? How is this going to do anything productive, constructive, or otherwise good? It won't. Do you know what it does?

It makes people hate Christians.

We always talk about how much people hate us. "Oh poor us, we'll be persecuted until the end of time, like the Bible says. It's not OUR fault we're followers of Christ!"

Actually the Bible is very clear on the matter. So for a lot of people we can determine that they will go to Hell unless they change their ways. Or for those who violated Matthew 12:31 we can even be sure they will go to Hell no matter how sorry they are.

That means you are going to Hell, I am going to Hell, everyone on earth is going to Hell.

No it does not. As the Bible teaches us in Matthew 7:13-14 almost everyone will go to Hell, but a small group of people will be allowed in Heaven where they can stay until they make a fatal mistake and also have to go to Hell (Revelation 12:7-12).

You have a chance here to do the right thing and be allowed in Heaven. Don't waste it!

But it was never meant to be "used" as you are doing, to convert people. How can one hold an intimate, meaningful, loving, and legitimate relationship with the Lord when the only reason they "believe" is so that they won't be thrown into the lake of fire? That is not true belief. God knows this, and in the end of days, they will be thrown into the lake of fire along with the rest of the sinners. This is NOT saving them, but on the contrary, assuring their eternal damnation.

Because inveriably, God knows his own rules (and the other person's true nature) better than we do.

What I was trying to say was, Humanity is sinful. You and I are sinful. The wages of sin is death, right? All have fallen short of the glory of God, right? We are all equal in God's eyes, because we have all sinned. Thus, we are all going to Hell.

EXCEPT, that Jesus came to earth and died to save us. So we have ALL been saved, and we ALL get a second chance. Whether we choose to take advantage of this act of mercy is our choice, and not anyone else's, right?

And if it's our choice and nobody else's, how can you say that all who enjoy My Little Pony are going to choose the wide path? How can you say that enjoying My Little Pony IS choosing the wide path?

The Bible sure doesn't say anything about My Little Pony, and what you choose to do besides watch the show is besides the point. I see what you're saying. I did not mean to insinuate that those were the only commandments, or even laws, to be followed. I was simply intending to point out that Love is the greatest of all things, and that loving is more of a priority than ANYTHING else.

Well, that simply means you should judge others' character based on righteousness, not whether they are rich or poor or other worldly characteristics.

Yes, that is true, but it is not OUR judgement. Warning people that they will be judged is very different from telling them how they will be judged.

Well, I'll admit that one's got me. In and of itself, it doesn't make much sense. I mean, if a spiritual man judges all things but cannot be judged, then this introduces a logical flaw once there is more than one "spiritual man". Because this verse says that a spiritual man both can AND cannot judge another spiritual man.

These are the kinds of remarks that make me suspect you haven't studied the entire Bible.

I believe in the Jesus who told us that the greatest commandment was to love God, and the second was to love others! How can you be so hateful and still claim to be following the path of Jesus? How can you shun sinners when Jesus was the one who consorted with them, to the Pharisees' disgust? How can you hold such a grudge against this group of people and still love the God who forgave us for murdering his Son?

I most certainly to not believe Jesus or God to be an "ineffective pansy". He is a fair judge, and if we do wrong, he'll send us to Hell. My problem with what you guys are doing is that you aren't trying to spread the good news; you are trying to scare people into converting by threatening them with Hell, as if you had the power to determine whether or not Jesus would send them to Hell. No one knows for sure who will go to Heaven or Hell, and no one is without Sin. NO ONE. Remember "let him who is without sin cast the first stone"? That woman had just committed adultery, but Jesus saved her from the crowd and forgave her. Do you think she comitted adultery ever again? I don't.



You are correct. Only those who follow 100% of God's laws will not go to Hell.

That means you are going to Hell, I am going to Hell, everyone on earth is going to Hell. Get the picture? We've all sinned. It says so in the Bible.

Now, the point of Jesus coming to earth to die for us was so that he could give us a second chance. ALL of us, not just some of us. Atheists? They get a second chance. Homosexual rapists? Yep, them too. EVERYONE.

So when we walk up to someone and tell them that they are a homosexual, masturbating sinner (when we have no idea) and that they need to confess that they did these things and stop doing them, or they'll go to Hell, do you honestly think that's going to convince them to do anything except hate us?

Go and read the actual words of Jesus. Do they actually say you will be loved by God or do they threaten Hell if you do not obey God? I'll give you a clue.

I think you are missing the Pastor's point; because we love our fellow man for the sake of Christ we must warn the unsaved about Hell. After all, a TRUE Christian™ is not going to go to Hell thanks to Christ's sacrifice on the cross.
