They were wise men (Matthew 2:1), not some "magi." Are you implying that Jesus was receiving gifts from sorcerers? Now, that would be weird!

The idea that the son of God would celebrate a pagan holy day doesn't fly.
Then, why did God allow the wise men to 1) know Jesus was born 2) realize it was worth celebrating, and 3) find Him and give Him His birthday presents?

The only 2 persons in the Bible stated for sure to celebrate their birthday were 1) Herod and 2) the Egyptian pharaon. Both infidels
... And Jesus. Definitely not an infidel.

      it's been pagan for ages

Gen. 40:20 And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.

because that was the day Jesus was born. It's a pretty good occasion to celebrate, another one would be a wedding. You are missing the difference between Jesus and the Sun god. The sun god is born every year on winter solstice. Jesus was born once. So the heathen celebrate birthdays once a year, and true Christians (not to be confused with True Christians TM) celebrate it once per life. (And we don't do birthday wishes, cakes nor any abominable thing of course)

....and so is a wedding anniversary, right?

I'm confused. Why are you bringing a pagan deity into all this? (I mean, they don't even share an actual birthday date, as Christmas is not celebrated the day of winter solstice).

You talk an awful lot about pagan religions for someone who claims to be Christian!

So the heathen celebrate birthdays once a year, and true Christians (not to be confused with True Christians TM) celebrate it once per life. (And we don't do birthday wishes, cakes nor any abominable thing of course)
I'll agree with you that cakes are abominable, but it's due to really high corn syrup content in the frosting.

Oh, please do find me a Bible verse that states that cakes are abominable!!

BTW, you've failed to establish why birthday wishes and candles would be actually forbidden, too.

Christian holy days are celebrated on the calendar year, the same as birthdays. There is no less reliance on what you term as "astrology" for their existence, than there is for birthdays.

Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

But your definition of "astrology" is totally skewed to suit the JW agenda. It would seem that you define astrology as the measurement of time. This is clearly wrong as God put the light in the firmament just for that purpose.
I'm sorry my friend, but you have been brainwashed by the JW cult.

I might also refer to you to this thread on what we think of astrology.
It is the stars in the firmament that God put there that determine what a year is - not some pagan whatever. How about you read the Bible.

Any corn syrup in there? No, and that was my point. When you say things like:

It implies that you thought all frostings contain corn syrup, and I'm happy to hear that is not now the case.

I've never claimed to fail to establish the connection, to me it's obvious. The customs of men are worthless according to the Bible. If you came up with the birthday ritual yourself that's one thing, but if you picked up this custom from your parents, Zombi TV or some such secular humanist source, that would make it vain. If you love Jesus without reservation, I am sure you can establish why birthday rituals would be forbidden with very little research

We should examine our consciousness and accept the truth unconditionally no matter what our denominations teach. My denomination is as bad as yours but we shouldn't let organized religion in the way of salvation. God bless

I am not familiar with "Zombi TV" or other secular humanist sources (? whatever that means, btw). However, I am deeply interested in your definition of ritual. Do you think the same of, like, washing my teeth daily ritual? Combing my hair daily ritual? Washing my hands after going to the bathroom ritual? I've certainly learned these things from my parents. They are rituals in the same sense as birthday celebration is ("an act or series of acts regularly repeated in a set precise manner," source). Should all these things be forbidden, too?

You are making extraordinary claims with zero Scripture to back it up...I would suggest you change that dynamic.
