LBC Exclusionary?

One of the complaints I have encountered while encouraging others to become Baptist is that we exclude so many from fellowship. They used these as examples:

Poor people: One look at the Landover floor plan discredits this argument. I counted 5 rows of bleacher seats and that doesn’t include the bench outside across the highway.

Sinners: Nonsense. We simply require them to walk in the ways of the Lord, thirty steps behind us until vetted.

What arguments have you heard and how can you prove them wrong (which they always are)?

I agree, we're not exclusive at all. Even tin tithers have their place in Church. Of course, we do not serve liberals nor homosexuals, but that's our God given (and Trump approved) right.

Once my theonomic book sales go up, I would be interested to contribute to the financial health of this wonderful church. I'm pleased you accept Christians of all appearances, even bald men. So true, Sister. My husband has recently remarked that Landover Baptist Church, far from being exclusionary, is nowhere near exclusionary enough. People who have previously been expelled or shunned turn up again and again, thinking nobody will notice, and the sheer boredom caused by their inanity is quite exhausting. As he said, it's getting like the Church of England here and, although he has sunk a lot of time - not to mention money - into the church, he is thinking of applying the bygones principle.

Well, I see Matthew's point, but on the other hand, Sister - we are the only church which guarantees Salvation. That explains the hordes of the unsaved trying to sneak in. They may gather at the gates but they cannot get in without passing the inspection by the DoF.

So true, Sister Basilissa. I have read thousands of posts here from LBC True Christians. We regularly point out the sins of those who come here. But, we always point them toward improvement, reading the Bible for example.

The number of souls we have saved is astounding. Keep up the good work everyone.

Brother Larry, your friends say "exclusionary" as if it were a bad thing! They will know one day, if not today then in the hereafter (Philippians 2:10-11) that Jesus is very exclusionary! Why, He only calls the best of the best! This is why He has deemed from the very beginning that He will not suffer the blind, lame, disfigured, or deformed. He will tolerate no man who has a broken foot or hand, or who is a hunchback or dwarf, or who has an eye defec. God is just as repulsed as any man of festering rash, scabs, or a crushed testicle (Leviticus 21:18-20). God hates cripples, and so does Pastor Zeke! And rightfully so!

One of the complaints I have encountered ... is that we exclude so many from fellowship.

It is not that we exclude them – they exclude themselves.

Some are excluded by God, e.g. gimps cannot pastors (Lev 21:21) but never pray to God to heal them, and while they refuse to do this, we should shun them and their applications for membership of the congregation. It is well known that gimps are a public danger to the unborn child. A woman with child, may see such a creature and the poor child, when born, will this become a gimp himself (Ge 30:27 – 40).

Now it was said that this should not mean that Landover should not employ them as menials but, at Landover, our policy is that there is God in us all and even the pool-cleaners might see a deceptive pathway to being a pastor, and here it is in all our interests to prevent their ultimate and inevitable disappointment. Others choose to exclude themselves: Atheists (Heb:11:6); Catholics (Ex:20:4); democrats (Isa:26:11); Abominations (various verses), etc.

The wealth and fellowship that God gives us is shared generously among the Godly – not among the heathen who refuses to accept Jesus (Lu 9:5).

A biggie I hear all the time is 'Why are only True Christians(tm) allowed in to Heaven? That is not fair, Heaven needs to include all people.'
While on the surface (like most shallow things) that request seems fair. Dig into it, way down deep and the rational reasons are abundantly clear.

• Heaven has limited capacity, for a reason. Only the best of the best. Even if you are in Heaven now, it does not mean a better candidate may come along and bounce you down the stairs.
• Everyone in Heaven needs to be like minded. Can you imagine the smell if heathens were allowed in?
• When in Heaven, there are sat TV channels where you can watch Satan torturing the miscreants. Conversely, when not being tortured, those losers in Hell can see how good it is in Heaven, so so all of eternity, they are taunted by their failure. Everyone stays connected
• While in life, everyone gets a participation prize, getting in to Heaven requires dedication, work and commitment. Can you imagine how bad your lazy neighbor would feel if they were just 'given a spot on Genesis Avenue right next door to you. Them sitting out by the pool, snorting bong hits all day and masturbating while you studied the Bible and prayed to God to not send you to Hell.

These people seem to forget that they are all totally free to found any false church that they wish and draft the most inclusive membership requirements that they can imagine.

All of their efforts will come to naught when the whole lot of them dies, however.


Our worst fault is that we point out that last part continuously. But since we go out of our way to tell everybody that they are wrong, we can hardly be called exclusionary.
