Hello. I have a question about Fishing Tournaments! My uncle is very big into fishing,

Anyhow, I was wondering if tournament fishing is bad, because my uncle is into tournament fishing, and I'm not 100% sure if it's for jesus' rules or not.

I haven't played minecraft since 3 days after I joined LBC.

I have always been christian, just never extremely involved with my church and god's word. I'm hoping to turn that around.

Once I realized that you all aren't that mean, I quit minecraft and got more acquainted with this website.

So, to answer your question, yes, I have.

Your question on fishing tournaments is an easy one: Was not Our Lord a Fisherman? And did He not lead the disciples through a storm to a catch so large that it virtually wiped out the fish population in the Sea of Galilee?

To win a fishing tournament takes faith, great faith, faith that Jesus will be there at the end of your hook beckoning the fish.

Jesus came to Earth in human form for 33 years!

He was beaten!

He was spat upon!

He was bullied by mean people who said rude things!

He was not believed in spite of performing many amazing and inexplicable feats, like transforming water into wine and killing a fig tree!

He suffered unimaginable, horrific pain for at least half a day!

He died for an entire 3-day weekend before deciding it was time to resurrect Himself!

He did all this so you would no longer have to sacrifice animals to atone for your sins . . .

and He and His Ultimate and Immeasurable Sacrifice are not the first things you consider when you awake, the last thing you contemplate before sleep, and at the forefront of your mind guiding your every daily decision?

By what perverse mockery do you dare to call yourself a "Christian"?

There may be hope for you yet, friend!

Soon, you'll learn to capitalize proper nouns like Jesus and Bible!

And then you can tell your uncle to forget about his fisting tournaments and concentrate on being filled with the Love of Jesus instead!
