Arlight, I'm going to tear apart your "list" each number at a time starting with number one.

1= It's called a trend, it happens. Awesome movies like the matrix inspires the color black to be worn, not the devil. Don't go attacking the matrix either because it was only a movie ment to challenge the minds and fulfil peoples hunger for adrenalin rushing action.
2= Of course I'm going to wear a band shirt if I support a band! Regardless of the band, that shit's awesome to wear and t shirts are comfortable to begin with.
3= Let the kids be kids. What they were is only inspired through pop culture and as soon as the next best thing shows up, they'll drop it all like a bad habit and move on.
4= Weird jewelry? unless its what they listed before I wouldn't give a damn about it being silver. NEXT
5= That doesn't even make sense. What if I wanted a cross on my body? Don't give me the whole ruining god's plan or what ever by defiling my body with metal or ink.
6= Marilyn Manson does what he does for the social weird of things. He does it SPECIFICALLY just to keep you guys on edge. It's almost too easy to get any of you upset. I could argue all day about this because guess what people. I LIKE HIS WORK MWHAHAHAHA! The worst part is, I'm a christian! Whoops! As for the other bands?
7= Do i have to mention the trend again?
8= If I'm a damn teenager, I don't want to do it because YOU told me to. I'll do it on my own time when I want. You cant change that. I eat my food and later I'll say a prayer at night about it, so sue me.
9= This is hilarious. You think Death has anything to do with Satan? Maybe a vampire depending on what belief. If satan had a choice in the matter, he'd leave the wicked alive juuuuust for us. 10= There called drug addicts and guess what? A lot of them deeply believe in the lord. Surprise surprise!
11= If I do remember correctly, did we not see more then a handful of people drinking in the bible? As for kids drinking, oh well. As a parent you either suck for letting that happen or you get along with your kids well enough to SHARE a drink with them once in awhile.
12= Okay, common misconception. Suicide is a form of being EMO. Emo and goth are two entirely different things people. You can tell just by how they look. Emo wears the skin tight clothes while goth is normally baggy wear with chains. So far none of this has even touched the topic of goth.

28= Yep yep, your just going to have to go with the trend, its all there. You want some of them to fight for your country am I right? Some of these games help prepare you for the mentality of war with all its gore. That only covers war games though. In gernral I think people take it way too far. Its just all for the name of fun. In fact these people are called gamers. Extremely far from being a goth. A whole different world in fact.
29= Yeah no shit sherlock. The net has games, stories, links to communicate with friends. IT EVEN HAS A BIBLE FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO TRY TO DISS THE NET!

It's all in the name of supporting your Rock because lets face it, Rock is the fuel for some of the things we do in life. There is gothic rock but that's getting technical.
31= It's due to trend and that goes for sooooo many types of music but goth music? Rarely not my amigo. Try rap, hip hop, pop, any of the above if you want. It's endless and a trend. you dont want it? Talk to your kids instead of scorn them about it.
32= Teenagers get to that age where there curious. You have to deal with the fact that the primal instinct in humans is sex. Everything we do is tied around it. We go to school for good job. We keep the job for a woman you love and you want to support her because you want kids. It's man's natural instinct to produce something that will live on after them. Teens dont understand why but they know it would feel good. Talk to them instead of pushing it aside.
33= Look to the above. Its curiosity. Shit, I'm not gonna lie, I've done it A LOT too. It's a good feeling. I'm only saying here because i don't know any of you and you don't know me. When i finish typing this i'll be done with this site entirely and you will never communicate with me again and personally I'm happy about that. EVERYONE does it, not just "a Godless Goth" *rolls eyes* just not you people apparently. The rare, rare few of you who probably live in small towns and such not near anything particular happening.
34= I've searched the bible. I havent seen anything against it other then people crying out about gods original plan or something about humans. Man was meant to love a woman? Really? Look at all the stuff that happens that man CANT control that PEOPLE, HUMANS, believe shouldnt be the way it is.
35= Well you got me on Satanism and Scientology and Wicca. Philosophy though? That's not a cult it's exploring a sentence, a phrase, the way we should and should not think and such. Hinduism and Buddhism? We think it's evil but think about it, reeeeally think about it. They think that "Us" the christians are evil as well. Actually they dont think that, they basically want to be good people to there gods and become closer to them after each life they pass. They have strong faith in there religion. We think there going to hell, they think were gonna be born again as snails. Can't change they way they think just as they cant change the way you think.

Emo and goth are two entirely different things people. You can tell just by how they look. Emo wears the skin tight clothes while goth is normally baggy wear with chains.

Do goths prefer baggy clothes because goths tend to be quite portly? Are goths fatter, or are there in fact emos whose tummies bulge in an unsightly manner? Is a goth merely an emo whose diet has lapsed?

Well it clearly states there must be some confusion here.
Forgive me for being a history-freak but here goes.
It must be in the definitions of Goth. Well as far as I am concerned what baptist landover's call goth people, are psycho's who eat babies and sacrifises goats to lucifer.
Goth is actually a term that occurred in the romantism, it came with the facination of the obscure and inexplicable, as a counter movement to what we in Europe call the Golden Age. Where all the national anthems were written and everyone became idyllic and nationalists.

The reality though was quite different, Europe was devastated of many wars, and the people were desperate for food and work. It was dark times, and the natural goths, the romantisists, wrote about the darkness and despair in human beings. Many modern Goths today refer to Edgar Allan Poe, or even Shakespeare as their ideologists, actually there is a whole sub-genre called Victorian Goths, who also dresses like the old victorians.

It also became a way of architecture, many churches in Europe are praised for their gothic appearance, characterised by tall pointy windows, almost too many details for the eye to comprehend and the scary appearance. Gothic architecture was designed to inspire fear and awe into the public, to keep them in order even though times were rough. So the motives were often devils and demons and beasts, (the gargoyle for example) who would always remind them of what was waiting for them if they didn't behave.

Later on of course as it always happens, terms got used in different settings and with the Crowley-crew and their ideas, the term got thrown around a lot. It should be stated that looks and appearances were easily mixed up, and I can understand why.
Where do we set the definition now? I don't know.
It's so hard for me to distinguish between these genres.
I think we can agree on that nobody is to be offended, the people that the Baptists Landover call Goths, are clearly not the ones that I know call themselves Goths, because they are so far from eachother in definition as "getting stoned" can be both a high on marihuana, and a biblical punishment.
So I hope we can agree there is no need to discuss this further, as it is clear we're talking about two completely different things.
