I shall attempt to enlighten you, and the rest of the forum, to what a Protestant was, is and why we came to be.


A long time ago, in a land far from where you are....simple Farmers farmed their land for Potatoes, Wheat and cattle. The land that these simple people inhabited, and still to this day inhabit, was known as Hibernia....known more widely in this time as Ireland.
Around 320 years ago the Church of Rome and King James (Roman Catholics) decided that these simple people needed saving as they were 'Heathens' in their eyes(much as this "forum" looks on others as heathens because they do not follow rank and file with what others force on them........). They decided to round up new members for their 'church'. When the farmers said 'We have only time to tend to our crops and cattle...we do not have the time to spare to attend church, confession and mass in the way that you would like us to'. The Catholic Church was incenced at this and ordered anyone that would not join them by their own free will to be forced to join. The people found this to be unfair, especially as they were a church from a completely different country(Italy). The people decided that they did not want to do this and PROTESTED against the forced indoctrination to the Roman Catholic Church. The church did not like this and ordered anyone Protesting to be killed, their familys slaughtered and their homesteads burned to the ground. What the church did not know was there was a saviour in waiting, a KING amonst men who would protect the simple farmers from the evil Catholics. This man was William of Orange, a dutch nobleman who fought against the catholic church and James in 1688 resulting in James being exiled to France. James tried again to overthrow William of Orange in the year 1690 and was thoroughly beaten in a famous battle that is know still to this day as 'The Battle of the Boyne'...The Boyne being a famous river in Ireland.
There is an 'Orange folk song' called "The cry was No Surrender/Derrys Walls" detailing King William of Orange's Triumph in this world-wide renound Battle...the words go as follows............

*Derry being the city in Ireland where the battle took place. The Catholics tried and tried to breach Derrys Walls but couldnt and were defeated.

This song is a rousing ditty sung by many Protestants every year on the Twelfth of July, commemoratin the day that the Battle of the Boyne was won. The song is also sung by 50,000 people most Saturdays in a little part of Glasgow(Scoltland) on the south side of the River Clyde called Ibrox...home to the world record holding/breaking football(soccer to you guys) team called Glasgow Rangers(a Protestant Team formed in 1873 by Peter Campbell, William McBeath and brothers, Peter and Moses McNeil).
Glasgow Rangers hold the World Record for the most trophies won by ANY team in the world at professional level...be it Club or Country. This record stands at 110(if my memory serves me correctly) and will NOT be beaten any time soon by ANY club or country.

TRUE PROTESTANTS do not hate people because of their colour. Their is an Orange Lodge in Africa that made the long journey a few years ago to march in the Big Scottish Orange Order Parade the saturday before the 12th July(held annually) and they were very, very, VERY WARMLY welcomed by the Protestant community of Scotland in their rightful place as Brothers in the Loyal Orange Lodge.

It saddens me to see people on here who call theirselves Protestants, shamefully disrespecting MINE, and BILLIONS worldwides religion by calling people of African or Carribean descent hateful and disgusting names. Please do remeber, we have held OUR beliefs close to OUR hearts since the year 1690.....WELL before the BRITISH even discovered and colonised the Americas. Please, do NOT desicrate the lives lain down on 12th July 1690 by calling yourselves 'Proud Protestants' because believe me, you are NOT in any way associated with OUR Proud Religion.

If you feel the need, ban me and deactivate this account but i was under the impression that the Landover Baptist Church PRIDE theirselves in freedom of speech!

No offence meant, it is just that i am a busy man and i feel that i have already dedicated more of my time than i should have on this forum(around 4 or 5 hours i believe). I have around three weeks of backlogged work i should be doing....people need their instruments repaired, as i keep telling them 'stop banging away so hard at it...its a delicate piece of equipment friend' but they just laugh and keep whacking away at it. Its not all bad though, its Gods way of keeping my hands busy and my mind occupied

I think we must have our wires crossed somewhere along the lines, i get the impression that you find something i have said as a threat. I can only think you seen what i posted about the very heavy police presence at the Orange Order Parade in Glasgow and thought i was threatening you. Let me allay you and the DoF's(tbh i have no idea who the DoF is) fears and assure you that it was no threat of any kind. I was merely pointing out that over here in Scotland, Protestants and the Orange Order are hated so badly by Catholics that a very heavy police presence is needed to protect the marchers against attack.

With that said i hope you are of a more relaxed manner in reading my posts now, no threat was meant in any way, shape or form.

Unfortunatly, after reading what you posted to me i have had no option but to forward what you have 'advised' me of that you and your people would like to to 'set aboot me' to Strathclyde Police(here in Scotland) as i see that as an unveiled threat and so do they. Super Six.....it sails on the Styx..............i never bothered to read any of the links you posted...a great internet shortcut of tl;dr (too long;didnt read). No offence meant, it is just that i am a busy man and i feel that i have already dedicated more of my time than i should have on this forum(around 4 or 5 hours i believe). I have around three weeks of backlogged work i should be doing....people need their instruments repaired, as i keep telling them 'stop banging away so hard at it...its a delicate piece of equipment friend' but they just laugh and keep whacking away at it. Its not all bad though, its Gods way of keeping my hands busy and my mind occupied

Mrs Whitford, i dont find the appointment of Mr Obama in the white house to be funny in any way...i merely found it funny that you likened me to him. Sorry if it has caused you any upset.

My life is NOT sinful. I work very hard for the little money i have, a good deal of which i give to church collections. I treat others with the respect and dignity that i would expect them to treat me with, i do not smoke or drink or take drugs, even painkillers for bad back pain which i have.

As i stated before, i really do not have the time to read all of the links that you posted. I have three weeks of work i need to try and get sorted before the end of next week, something which i dont think i will be able to acheive but i must try! Please dont think that i was being ignorant to you or your religion, i am just really pressed for time. I will try to get a read at the links when i have a little spare time

I have to try and get a bit of a shift on here, Strathclyde Police are on their way to my workshop to see me about a post that was left here by another member of this forum threatening to 'set aboot me'. Here in Scotland, threats like that are taken very seriously and understandably so in our current climate of terrorism.

Hi Cranky Old Man.

I find it reassuring because the bible was my fathers who sadly is no longer with us. The Bible was also my Grandfathers who passed it onto my father when he passed away. It was the only possesion that he had with him when he cam from Ireland to Scotland...its kinda like a family heirloom.
I also find it reassuring because it tells me that no matter how bad i feel, no matter how unwanted and unloved i think may be....God and Jesus will always love me and will always be there for me.

What i find a bit strange is i was banned for 6 months approximately 15 minutes ago...but now im free to make this post.
