But they don't have a choice. They're born and immediately they have to struggle with the task of surviving. Anyway, many of these people probably are christian, yet still live on only 2USD a week. It is disgusting that any living person should have to live that kind of life, and even worse that you should insult them like that.

Whilst I think this tragedy is absolutely horrific and feel sorry for poor Victoria, we must also remember the thousands of others who have died in this awful earthquake, and not just focus around one person for their nationality.

Thank you for bringing a Godly sense of perspective into this ridiculous debate. You don't see God striking down the places where voodoo isn't the national religion, do you? George W. Bush is a wise man. Lord knows we could use his steady hand once again, particularly in these turbulent times brought on by the mismanagement, corruption and bad decisions of the Obummer administration!!

There are children out there born in poverty, with no choice of religion, or anything, just damned to starve and die. If you dont have the least bit of sympathy for them, you're no better than the devil himself

I take Jesus' view on this:

You see, were I to spend money on the poor, they might become rich and then the poor would not "always be with us". What Christian could try to make Jesus a liar?

Look further into the Bible; consider how Jesus is good to the poor but not the rich - should we destroy a poor man's chance of heaven by giving him wealth?

How do you get that from Brother Bathfire's statement: "My experience is that Americans have addresses, 3rd World sinners live under a tree or some such." let's break his statement down:

1) Americans have addresses. Racist? No. We have many races in America.

2) 3rd World sinners live under a tree or some such. Racist? No. The third world has many races AND he is talking about only 3rd world sinners.

Now let's take a closer look. In order to consider this statement racist according to the definition of the word, YOU had to make some racit assumptions:

1) YOU assumed that ALL people in the US are white.

2) YOU assumed that all "3rd world sinners" are all NOT white. (In addition to your overall observations being racist, HERE you are assuming that all 3rd world sinners are NOT white. You disgust me!)

3) YOU assumed that havign an address makes someone inherently "better" than someone who lives under a tree. (OK...I'll give you that one.)

I have the sad duty to report that an unspeakable tragedy has struck the island of Haiti: a 7.0 earthquake has left one American dead and three others missing. And thousands more—yes, thousands—may be also be affected!

I don't know Victoria DeLong, but I'll give her the benefit of doubt and pray that she's one of the good Californians. It's the only Christian thing to do.
Come on, prayer warriors! Please join me in asking God that no other righteous Americans are hurt!

I am really broken hearted about Mrs DeLong's death. This really is a heart breaking and my sincerest sympathy goes to her family over her loss. May Jesus call DeLog to His arms up in heaven.
