I think everyone in this entire thread is going about this issue the wrong way.

First off, let me state that I am theist agnostic. Agnostic means I neither believe nor disbelieve in a god, and the theist part means I lean towards there being a god.

Now, I would like to believe there is a god. Not God with a capital G. I just dislike organized religion.

If God is a kind, benevolent being, he would not create things for people to hate. If you say that God wants you to hate homosexuals, if you say homosexuals are unnatural, you would, in theory, be undermining the "power" of God, because if he didn't create homosexuals, Satan did, right? If homosexuals are SO BAD, why doesn't God just get rid of them? If you say he keeps them because he loves all creatures, then you, too, should love all creatures, including homosexual human beings. The only other reason God would not remove something unnatural or created by Satan is because he does not have the POWER to do so.

So which is it? Is God a loving being and everyone is misunderstanding him, or is he not as all-powerful as you think?

Or is he actually a hateful being, who creates things for you to hate and shun?

Now with that being said, Minecraft is being misrepresented here.

Firstly, I will not deny that there could be pedophiles on Minecraft. There could be pedophiles anywhere on the internet; there could be pedophiles on this very site.

Secondly, griefing is when a person logs onto a public server. They break things and ruin people's work just to be spiteful or to make people hurt and angry.

I noticed a post earlier that claimed a non-religious person who came onto the site just to talk about this thread was griefing, because they got on here just to incite an sngry response.

Whether or not that is true I can't say. I can, however, say I am NOT trying to make people angry, just a little aware and hopefully a little bit more open minded.

Again. If God didn't want you to be open minded, why did he give you the capability? Why didn't he just make you like an ant, whose brain is so small they can only process basic urges? Did Satan make us able to be tolerant and open minded? Again, is God just a mean person who makes it very easy for us to go to "Hell"?

Also, and this is what really bothers me. The American way of going to McDonalds, and it being evil to create your own tools.

YES. Giving the means of production to the working class IS, indeed, socialism. But the opposite is communism. Anyways, that's not the point.

So do you bible-lovers really think it is evil to be creative and make your own things? It is unAmerican to make your own food?

Ok. Saying that the above statements are true. That means that you want OTHER countries to make food and make things so we can just buy it, right?

Then fine. That's going to sell us to China.

When we only buy food and things from other countries, and NOT PRODUCE anything of our own, how do WE make money? We don't. American companies are currently outsourcing jobs to China because it's cheaper to manufacture in China.

Strike one. We are paying Chinese to make our products. That's already some flow of money to China.

And then, that makes the products cheaper. Makes sense, right? Cheaper to make, cheaper to sell. But as we Americans lose out jobs to China, because as you say, being creative and making our own things is evil, we have less and less money with which to buy these cheaper goods.

But oh wait! China has a lot of money, OUR money! They can buy our cheap goods.

They will slowly buy America out because there aren't enough creative small businesses making products that other countries want to buy. THis is why America owes so much money to other countries. We buy lots and lots of products from other countries without making much money ourselves.


I try to live my life by thinking about things for myself. If someone tells you what to do for your entire life, you never know if they are manipulating you. If you live your whole life underground, you may think the sky is a lie. I really hope everyone who reads this sits down and thinks about being respectful and polite, and also, WHY do you believe in God? Is God kind? Is God the type of person or being that I would like to obey and listen to? WHY do I obey God?

Also note. People who "sin" and go to "Hell" would be going to a place where they can be with similar people who like similar things, even though they are "evil". They would be going to "Hell" for enjoying things and being true to themselves. While some people who would go to Hell are mean and might deserve it, I think being eternally punished because you stood up for what makes you happy and what YOU believe in is being a martyr in the end.

Agnostic means you don't believe it's possible to know God. It's the opposite of gnostic.

Theist means you believe there is a God, not "lean toward" something. It's the opposite of atheist.

Neither. God creates evil as well as good. He brags about the fact repeatedly in the Bible. You'd know this if you read it, instead of trying to make up a god who just happens to agree with everything you believe (that is, worshiping yourself) and then trying to prove it exists.

He didn't 'give' us the capability. Adam and Eve stole it:

Your government provides laws which you must obey. If you break those laws, you go to prison. If you break certain of them, you get killed.

Are the police just mean people who make it very easy for you to go to prison? Of course not. They are just enforcing the law.

Similarly (governments copied God on this), God lays out His Law in the Bible. Over 600 Commands (not just ten). He also tells you the consequences for breaking any of those Commands.

You choose to break His Law. He's not forcing you to do so.

Also, that picture of what you called masterbating, you never had played the game. There is no sexual or nudity anywhere. It's a childrens game for gods sake! It's community driven, so you can expect some major flaws.

2."Destroys our economy!": How in the world would it destroy our economy? Bullshit. None of this game worships the demon, or supports it. Again, you the player can build anything, so it can be completely no-satan free. Also, that pic featured a TEXTURE PACK. It's, again, community driven. Read above.

I've played minecraft in-between work and college. I have to say it is perfectly fine. In fact, it may be educational! You can design your own skin/character. It also has a good easy software easily being avalible to modify, to make it as your own. The community also has a few, fun, safe mods. You don't have to use multiplayer either. Singlerplayer mode all the way!

Greetings, I used to play minecraft with my friends. That is, until I read this thread and realized how evil this game really is. I've had issue with games like "Elder Scrolls" or "Diablo" Before. However, Minecraft seems to be way more pernicious since its evilness is hidden. I've played it for a few months, What can I do to redeem myself ?

Also, Would you happen to know any video games that encourage christianism.

As for video games that promote the Christian lifestyle, I would recommend Left Behind: Eternal Forces. If atheists and joos in the game don't convert to Christianity, you get to kill them! It is truly a beacon of light that shines in the dark world of video games. Praise!
