Hi, I received an email saying I should introduce myself on the group so that is what I am doing. My name is Pepper I am from the UK (I hope this is not a problem) I am a Christian of course but wish to be a fairly silent voyeur on the group. I tend to be an observer and only voice my opinions when I feel them necessary. I think too much vocalization is a waste and I have come to find you opinions mean a lot more when you make them sparingly.

I am here to broaden my views of God and hope to hear the true word.
Feel free to ask me anything you wish (within reason)

Hi,

One of my favorite quotes is Malachi 2:3 aimed at the sinners in the world "Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it".

But having said that although we must educate sinners, God has brought so much good into our life I thoroughly enjoy happy texts within his bible.

I have a wonderful Baptist Church which I attend called Leigh Road Baptist Church, Fairly small unfortunately I would love for more people to attend but we can only try.

I do not have a husband, I wish to not be blinded from Gods work at such a young age as yet.

It was lovely to meet you all I hope to hear more from you all soon.

Pepper, how old are you? Having a husband won't "blind" you from God's work at all. In fact, you need a husband to guide you in God's work.

Well, that’s good news, you have no idea how many complaints we get from rightly outraged fathers and husbands who find that their daughters and wives have been going on the internets of their own volition.
Anyhoo, I see you have been away for a few hours and I assume that you have been helping your mother with the cooking, cleaning and general housework and learning from her too whilst talking about how to care for all the future sons you will bear.

Here’s a poster that expresses all that is Christian and Godly; you can print it out and keep it – perhaps you would want it on the wall of your room.

Tell us, does your father have any suitable young men lined up for you? You can’t be getting any younger.

I'm 18 and just finishing my A levels (it is slightly different to American schooling) I do not think my father has anyone lined up for me, He would of course have to meet anyone before I was courted but I am allowed to choose who I date as long as I have my blessings.

Are you all pastors? or do you have other jobs?

Cannot your Pastor provide your father with a good husband? I don't understand why you should play any role in selecting a decent husband for yourself. God is very specific about who you are allowed to have as a husband: 2 Corinthians 6:14 "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?".

Are you all pastors? or do you have other jobs?

I myself am retired and I have never been a Pastor. I still do things to support Jesus though, like contributing to Project Habakku.

And to Soldier John (I do not understand this quoting business as yet) I found you whilst searching for somewhere to broaden my faith online and this seemed perfect, I wish to be a mother and a wife (sounds pretty old fashioned but it's all I've ever wanted) and maybe part time teach primary school children (primary school is ages 3-9) how about you? Where abouts in America are you from?

I am from the Mid West but I really like Cranky Old Man's location. I hope to be able to say I'm from there too one day
I think it's great you want to be a wife and mother! Many woman any more don't seem to understand that that is what God wants of them. However, why a primary school teacher? Don't you think it may be more important for you to first find a husband and then add to God's army? On the same idea, shouldn't you also focus on being a good wife instead of wasting time away from home? I mean, if you love children so much, I'm sure your husband would not reject the idea of having nine or ten.
Also, you said you're 18. It is acceptable for a man not to be married but if you are not careful, you may end up as a spinster
I think maybe you should do what I have been doing, pray to God to help in finding your future mate. I'm sure He will provide.
