I don't remember the exact day, but I was around the age of 12. My entire life my mother forced me into believing in GOD and at first I gladly accepted it, because I was a child, and knew no better. As I grew older and became more aware of how silly the idea of GOD was, it only became aparant that he did not exist. It took me a few years to finally let go because I was terrified of going to Hell, even after completely denying his existence. All I see you people is preaching terror unto others through the idea of Hell. And obviously, you too live from this terror. If I am wrong and there is a Hell, then I will be joined in good company, by all of the greaters philosophers, scientists, musicians, and thinkers of the world.

OK Look - don't you think this has gone back and forth enough? We know God exists because it's utter silliness to believe otherwise. Seriously. You've got to take off your blindfold, and embrace the love of Jesus Christ.

You talk about us treating you bad. We want to save you, we don't want you to go to hell - yeah we show a little tough love, but it's nothing compared to hell; burning all day upside down with your head in urine, getting raped over and over, etc etc. Why do you want that for yourself?

Your constant questioning of GOD is breaking my heart because the more you do, the more I know none of us can help you, and that makes me sad.

Please change your mind before it's too late.

You have to understand that everyone has their own answer. Everyone's answer is different than anyone else and I'm content with mine. You have to learn to show respect towards another individuals decision/answer and not try to push yours unto others. I understand this is a Christian community, but I came here for the simple reason for someone to prove to me GOD exists. For years I've asked Christians, but never received a straight answer. The reason why this question still remains is because everyone has their own interpretation of GOD, the Bible, and anything related to such items. These are their own answers and there is no true answer to this, but your own. So instead of preaching your own answer to others, allow them the freedom to think of their own, then if they wish to be educated on yours so be it.

"Please, prove to me there is a GOD" is as hard as it is to "prove there is not a God". If absolute proof for either viewpoint would exist everyone (or no one) would be a Christian. So obviously it is more complicated than that.

From our viewpoint, the Christian viewpoint, it is very important to realize that Christianity is based on faith. We have to figure out for ourselves that Jesus is our savior before we can be saved. "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father but by Me." (John 14:6)

But this does not mean God didn't leave any hints of His actual existence. He clearly wants many of us to get saved, so He helps us a little in achieving that. I will explain a few of those hints from God to you.

First of all there is the Holy Bible. This book is unlike any other book in existence. While it is huge it is also extremely consistent. It is a testimony to what men can achieve when they are possessed by the Holy Spirit. It is almost impossible to read it without realizing God must really exist. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2nd Timothy 3:16)

Second of all there is Hell. God made sure everyone is fully aware of Hell. Even those who do not believe it actually exists. I am sure you have heard of it as well. Hell is the ultimate warning sign. It is the ultimate weapon in convincing as many people to choose Jesus as possible. It is the ultimate sign of God's love for us and His wish that many of us will choose to join Him in Heaven. "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." (Revelation 21:8)

Third of all there is science. There is no greater proof of God's existence. Where the Bible is consistent, science is not. Where the Bible explains everything around us, science fails at that. A few decades ago they predicted global cooling, suddenly it has become global warming. There isn't a scientific "fact" of the past that hasn't been refuted in the present. And the same will happen to all current scientific "facts" as well.

So as you can see God wants us to work for our salvation. He wants us to figure out on our own He exists and He is the ultimate ruler of all. But He gave us help in many ways to figure out the truth, for those who are open to it. "For by grace are ye saved through faith." (Ephesians 2:8)

I am a Christian, not a Catholic or a Mormon. This means there is no limit to what I can do or what I can achieve as long as I follow the Holy Bible to the letter. This means one must be patience and have faith, but given those there are no limits to how much wealth can be acquired: "A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent." (Proverbs 28:20) This means I never participate in "get rich quick" projects, all my investment projects take a long time before they become profitable.

Finally, someone caught on what I've been on about. I'd have to disagree that He would try to influence you on making a decision on whether to believe in him or not. I've seen many of you state that He wants free will for you, so how is that free if He influences your decision? I'm sorry, but the Bible contradicts itself plenty of times throughout the Bible. I've done a lot of research into religion and most of the stories in the Bible are based off of ancient religions/Astronomy. If you don't believe me, then you can research it yourself. The Bible was written by man and interpreted by man throughout time. If GOD was real, then he would have made a book himself written by himself, and not allowed it to be messed with like it has. I'm pretty confused as to how you can make such claims that science cannot explain everything around us. There are plenty of scientific facts that haven't been refuted. Someone with your type of education shouldn't make such bold claims as this. It makes me mad when people generalize an entire group of people because a few made a few bad decisions. You have to realize that people as a whole are evil, evil creatures, and not just because of their skin, eyes, etc. You cannot damn an entire people because of a few bad actions. It's much easier to pick out the bad in things than the good.

I don't think you have the right to pass judgement upon my father, or mother for the way they raised me. I never said I hated Jesus. I have no negative towards any religious people, but ignorant people like yourself. I never disobeyed my mother or father. I lost my mother to M.S. and my father did his best raising me. You may say that GOD is the only answer, but why does the question still exist? You may be an adult, but you have the ignorance of a child, and act like one as well.

Time and time again this community disappoints me with your ignorance. I'm 19 years of age and I didn't even graduate high-school. Yet, I have more sense than most of you. I don't know why you keep assuming that everything HAD to be created by some super being. You don't really think things could happen by chance do you? Over millions of years that this planet has been around it has had the time to form and adapt the beautiful place you see today. It didn't happen over 6 days as you would like to believe because there are new species added everyday. You may think that it's GOD, but why would he add more things to an already "perfect" creation by the "perfect" being Himself? Why would he not show some sort of sign like he did in the Old Testament by smiting many cities? The logic behind your thinking is almost astonishing to me that you could be so ignorant. I guess it's mainly because being blind to so many things and close-minded for your entire life could do so. It makes me laugh that you are so close-minded, because you would think such devoted Christians would merely laugh at such weak attempts disnouncing their faith, but you're too close-minded to even listen, and run away at the chance of conflict because cannot even answer a simple question (such as answering why GOD exists.). I've never received a straight forward answer giving any sort of proof, but only fairy tale proportions, like Santa Claus, or the Tooth Fairy. You believed them when you were a kid because you were gullible, but you stopped believing in them. Do you know why? Because you were not promised eternal damnation for eternity. Obviously I know the different between the sky and the Earth. You're the people that believe the Earth is still flat :fp:.

2+2=4 You're taking what I said out of context. I was addressing the idea of GOD and people's theories, not math. Don't worry, I'll work on posting the proof just be ready to read it with an open mind. Why should I have to research His existence when I'm on a Christian forums and you could easily prove His existence to me? Like I've stated before, If GOD was the answer and did exist, then don't you think 100% of the world would be Christians? If there was irrefutable evidence as you claim, then everyone would be Christians. Once again, the reasoning for this is because everyone has their own interpretation and answer for these things. You don't hear what a person says, but the sound their thoat makes, and you interperet that in your mind. So in essence, you're hearing what you're saying. Also, making this your own interpretation. I never made the claim that science proves everything. It surely has the capability and has explained most things, so it has the potential to explain everything. Niether of us have the power to see into the future, so don't try arguing this. You didn't prove anything by posting a wikipedia link. Once again, I've simply asked for someone to prove to me GOD's existence, but you cannot do that. You're only arguing with me by trying to prove the things I say are wrong. Why don't you post some REAL proof from YOURSELF, and not post something from wikipedia?

It's called: FAITH

We believe wholeheartedly that God and Jesus exist. We have faith in Him. That and the Bible are the only real proof we need. I look at a glorious day, and my wonderful family, and know that I have God's greatest gift, life and love. If that isn't proof then you see no true beauty in the world, do you?
