Girlfriend got raped

Hello fellow God-fearing christians,

I need your help. Me and my girlfriend are both God-fearing christians, and we're facing a dilemma here.
My girlfriend (who I love with all my heart) recently got raped by a good, God-fearing christian fellow, and Deuteronomy 22:28 says that she should marry him. The problem is, although my girlfriend and I are not already married, we plan on getting married in two months.
We're both confused on what we should do to pleasure God. Should we break up and she marry the man, or should we wait and marry each other? What is the correct solution?

So did she cry out? How is this difficult to understand?

So long as she was properly betrothed to you you're fine, unless she didn't cry out, being in the city. In which case you can't actually kill her these days, sadly, but I guess you might want to put some distance between you.

I'm afraid if she wasn't properly betrothed to you then she must marry him and it's nothing to do with you.

So in answer to your question: What does the Bible say?

It says that she should marry him, but I believe the reason for that is so that she can be saved (through marriage), which I will happily do. Also, as someone mentioned in another thread, it's because no man would want to marry a raped woman, but I love her so much that I will happily do so.

Thanks for telling us a bit about yourself. As for your original question, the Bible is very clear on such matters.

Deuteronomy 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Deuteronomy 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

I think the above versus speak for themselves. If it's any consolation, he will have to pay 50 shekels of silver to your ex-girlfriends father - time to move on son, it is God's will.

Her father died in a car crash a few years ago, so I suppose I am eligible for the money, right? Unfortunately, according to google, 50 shekels are only worth 13 dollars today. Is the value negotiable?

Also, we don't live on the city and I'm not sure whether she cried or not.

I'm confused on what to do. If I stone him to death, I'll be charged for murder and might spend the next 20 years in jail, which will stop me from marrying her.

I agree with Brother Alphonse. Regardless of how you apply the numerous biblical references provided to you, consider yourself fortunate to know about her harlotry beforehand. I just think it's a shame that she probably ruined that other man's life by enticing him in such a whorish fashion.
