    Peaceful conversations wanted!

Hi, I am an agnostic atheist and I have come here to have a peaceful conversation about the sacred book of the Christians, which is the Bible. I only have one question:

How can someone be sure that the Bible is the infallible word of God?

(2 Timothy 3:16-17) "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."

    You're welcome.

      Re: Peaceful conversations wanted!

Welcome. We know that the Bible is the Word of God because it tells us so.

2 Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

And we know God's Word is infallible because He says so.

      Jn 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

Now that that's cleared up, what's to stop you from accepting Jesus as your personal savior?
sigpicMt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Agnostic atheist? Either you beleive Jesus is God and humanities saviour or you are confrmed to the Lake of Fire.

Why do you choose to go to the Lake of Fire?

Let me clarify. An agnostic atheist is someone who doesn't believe in a god/gods because of the lack of strong evidence for any of them. He/she does NOT claim to know that a supernatural deity doesn't exist. He/she is completely open to the possibility that a god/gods exist; he/she only needs hard evidence. Another term for "agnostic atheist" is "weak atheist".

But, frankly speaking, I can write and publish a book where it states: "Everything that is written within this book is true". The statement in my book would not really prove that everything within it is true. How would you know if my book isn't lying?

            Three questions:

            1) Have you?
            2) Has it been accepted as the Truth by billions?
            3) Was it inspired by God Himself?

            Let's keep it real.

It isn't true just because a majority believes it (bandwagon fallacy). There was a time in the Middle Ages when a majority of people believed that the earth was flat, does that mean that the earth was flat during that time?

The Bible was divinely-inspired according to it. But how do we know that anything it says is credible?

The Quran also tells us that it is also infallible, and 1.6 billion people believe in it (source: http://www.pewforum.org/2011/01/27/t...im-population/). How can we know that the Quran is false and the Bible is true?

And by the way, please remind me if I'm not being nice anymore.

Could have, would have. A simple no was enough friend.

There was a time in the Middle Ages when a majority of people believed that the earth was flat, does that mean that the earth was flat during that time?
Of course not! The earth is still flat today, just like it was in the middle ages. It's not because people write that it isn't these days (see what I did there? ) that it's not.

The Bible was divinely-inspired according to it. But how do we know that anything it says is credible?
Because it was Divinely inspired. It says so!

The Quran also tells us that it is also infallible, and 1.6 billion people believe in it
Don't be silly. It is well known that the sand dwellers were mighty jealous of us Christians, and decided to invent their own "god" about 600 years after Jesus Himself had shown us the Way. They even gave Jesus a role in their book (which wasn't even a book at first, their main epileptic prophet couldn't even write...), but demoted Him to prophet status.

And by the way, please remind me if I'm not being nice anymore.
You can be assured of that.

                    Hello TheCube.

Thank you for telling me about the bandwagon fallacy I had to look it up it is also called argumentum ad populum in Latin. The next time someone tells me that evolution is most likely true because most scientists believe it is true I will tell them about the bandwagon fallacy I probably will not remember the Latin phrase.

                    Thank you.

First of all, this is NOT a debate forum. We're right and you're wrong, according to Jesus and the Holy Word of God. Please read THIS thread before making an even bigger fool of yourself.

Secondly, while the internets might seem to be "free" to you, this particular corner of the internets is a privately owned Christian forum. The rights you have on this forum are listed HERE. Please contact a Pastor immediately if you feel that any of your rights have been violated.

Finally, your unsaved opinions or tantrums are not even slightly of interest to us. We follow the Holy Word of God TO THE LETTER, and make no apologies for that. One of the most important commandments in the Bible tells us to avoid unsaved scum such as yourself. You wandered in here uninvited, and unwelcome .

If you want to debate people, THIS is the place to go.

Please make a thread of your own in the "Introductions" section of the forum, so that we can properly greet you. Tell us about yourself, your church, and how you came to find Jesus.

And if you're here to flame us, better take a look at THIS before making an even bigger ass out of yourself.

I will pray that the Holy Spirit enter you and chase the demons out of your rectum and let Jesus fill you with His Grace. If you use your God-given free will to reject Christ and His temporary death on the cross for my sins, then you are sending yourself to hellfire.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

A book written by a man cannot be compared to The Word of God. God's very Holy nature prevents Him from being able to lie:

Titus 1:2 (1611 King James Bible)

In hope of eternall life, which God that cannot lie, promised before the world began:
Satan is the father of deception:

John 8:44 (1611 King James Bible)

Ye are of your father the deuill, and the lusts of your father ye will doe: hee was a murtherer from the beginning, and abode not in the trueth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his owne: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
So, when God tells us something, anything, we know for a fact it must be the truth. And therefore by default, we also know that anything which contradicts The Word of God is a lie.

Open up to God and He will show you the truth.

John 16:13 (1611 King James Bible)

Howbeit, when hee the spirit of trueth is come, he wil guide you into all trueth: For he shall not speake of himselfe: but whatsoeuer he shall heare, that shall he speake, and he will shew you things to come.

                          I Kings 7:23

And he made a moulten Sea, ten cubites from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, & his height was fiue cubits: and a line of thirtie cubites did compasse it round about.

You can be assured of that.

They did that because of jelousy and to spite us. And becuase of a poor job of copycatting.

Just like the birth of rap music.

I know in my heart that the Bible is true:

If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. John 7:17

You just have to ask for guidance from above and you will find the truth:

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. - Matthew 7:7-8
Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division - Luke 12:51
