Well sorry I don't know this kind of stuff, I don't pay attention to much. So which one? Like does it matter? I'm seeing mostly the study bibles and the 400th Anniversary bibles.... and it's not like I can go ask somebody everybody I know is either Athiest, Catholic, Mormon, or false Christian.

Of course it matters which one! It must be the 1611 King James Version. Haven't you been paying attention to anything on this site?

Listen up Mot. Stop wasting our time, it's Sunday and some of us need to be in church. Here's a link: http://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/1611-Bible/ , it's free so start reading and maybe you'll understand how we live our lives. Or, better yet, use it to help you live a better life for yourself.

Why are we even having this ridiculous argument? Of course Jesus was born on December 25. I hardly think that God would have let generations of Christians celebrate the wrong birthday for His Son.

The rule is, don't celebrate with light or lights. Pagans celebrated the solstice, the beginning of more daylight, with symbols of light, fires and candles.

Mr. Mayor, I have a little girl in my class who is from a Mexican family. They are now Christians and not Catholics, but she is familiar with some of the Catholic practices, having so many cousins and all. One things she told us in class was that Catholics traditionally put candles in their windows to remind them of a time when priests were illegal and by the light of a window could they know a safe harbor and a family who wanted to practice papist rituals. Seeing how Catholics are pagans in disguise, this makes perfect sense. I've spoken to the principal of my school and he agreed to throw away every last candle on school grounds. We then prayed over the school grounds to rid the buildings of any pagan demons and spiritual influence.

This is the time of year when we must takes stands that are unpopular with our children who are exposed to ideas from the outside. Stay with your values and Jesus will be pleased.

There is more problems than just lights, brother. The so-called Christmas tree is a travesty before God!

"Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not." -- Jeremiah 10:2-4

Re: Don't Light Candles This Christmas, It's Pagan

Everything about the holiday is pretty much pagan! As I've said many times before, when the christian conquerors were forcing christianity on the pagans, part of the process of conversion was to make the dates coincide with pagan dates to make this an easier process.

That was at least one of the 'nicer' ways it was done. There were then those like Olaf Trygvasson who simply decided to torture people into submission.

I just find it incredibly funny that you acknowledge things like what was pointed out in the original post, yet you continually ignore all the other pagan elements to your religion.

                                Why is that, exactly?
