    Re: Exciting news!!!

Exciting news, indeed! May I offer my congratulations to your new husband? Standard etiquette stresses that one congratulates the gentleman and extend best wishes to the lady.

He has won himself quite the prize and I am sure that he will treat you as the most precious of property. As long as he is a True Christian™, then you will be in safe hands.

We await further good news regarding the birth of a healthy male child. Zoom may prove inadequate to the task of bringing about that particular blessing, but one can take confidence in The Lord and His Strength in overcoming all obstacles.

Oh, at last! What lovely news, Sister. May I extend warmest good wishes to you both, from all the family. I confess that I am curious to know whether you are married under American law, Mexican law - or perhaps both? But this is mere female nosiness and of course it is none of my business.

I do hope that Enrique is soon released from quarantine and able to join you so that you can set about God's important work of procreation.

Oh, my heavenly stars! Dear Sister Basilissa, this is just the most glorious news. I cannot tell you how thrilled I am that you and your beloved Enrique are married -- finally! Goodness, it seems like you have waited for so long for this to take place, and now, you have the blessing of the Almighty on your union.

Mark 10:9 "What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."

Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

Now, I have heard a lot lately about this Zoom thingy, but I'm afraid I know nothing about it. Is it one of those computer gadget "app" things that the younger people like? If so, I think I understand the concept, of being able to see each other over a screen. Dear, if I am grasping this correctly, are you quite sure that your marriage is legal if you were not in the same room together, at the same time, with an officiating minister? For example, how did the signing of the marriage registry take place if you were not with each other? I do hope that there shall be no hindrances once all of the paperwork is sorted and filed away. And, perhaps, once Enrique has joined you here in the blessed , you might even wish to have a ceremony of blessing, conducted by our beloved .

And, please, do be sure to let us know when all of this is settled. I shall be more than happy to arrange a bridal shower for you, along with the Ladies of . All the best to you & Enrique for many, many years of matrimonial happiness, Dear.

I approve. Keep on praying! I must say, tho', that it is less strenuous to move a mountain that it was to make you a decent wench!

Wow. I'm speechless. Pastor Zeke and Jesus congratulated me on my wedding?! What's next, am I to expect a note from our Godly President himself?!

Or at least from his lawyer Rudy Giuliani. Each time he's on tv Enrique smiles and says, and I quote, "he behaves and talks as if he's been sniffing a lot of my product." I'm not sure what that means, but I'm sure it's a praise of the Godly tv lawyer of our Godly President.

The only thing I can think of that you sniff is pepper and it makes you sneeze? Are there pepper plantations down there? Certainly it is a lucrative business!

And not only a note from the President, but also one from George Floyd (decd). After heaping posthumous praise on the President's job creation statistics, I'm sure he will find joy in your nuptial notice.

No, what Enrique produces and trades is definitely flour, I've seen it from afar, it's white and powdery. I asked and apparently it cannot be used to make sourdough bread, though, which is a pity. I overheard Enrique and his men talking about making and selling pasta, so it's a type of flour used to make pasta. I rarely eat pasta and never make the noodles myself, but that must be the Giuliani connection, the Italians live on nothing but pasta.

Naturally, there is joy in the heart of any Christian for a woman who is about to set aside the ways of the world, ambition, career, learning, personal advancement, etc, etc, for her primary purpose in bearing and raising children in the Christian tradition under the strict guidance of her husband, and yet...

... and yet this is tempered by the worrying phenomenon of some women who will do anything to obtain “a husband” almost regardless of his suitability:

Ec:7:25: I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness:
Ec:7:26: And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.
Ec:7:27: Behold, this have I found, saith the preacher, counting one by one, to find out the account:
Ec:7:28: Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.
Ec:7:29: Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.

The Good Lord is short on direct advice to women, (See John 2:3 – 4, for an exception) rather relying on

1Co:14:35: And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
1Co:14:40: Let all things be done decently and in order.

I have always seen this as implying (1) the eternal truth “You can tell a Christian woman, but you can’t tell her much.” and (ii) the Wisdom of God Who is fully aware that if He were to start directing advice to women, He would, even in His Infiniteness, soon run out of time to do the important things in life like inspiring Baptist Prophets.

But I am wandering from my point. My point is that to know whether a man is suitable, that man must be presented before the Council of Elders at Landover, who will press the suitor as to his Christianity.

Having read the a few details (provided by yourself, and hence probably biased) I caught myself wondering if it were at all possible or advisable for him to travel to the US.

                      If he can, he should.
