Freehold Police Department Announce New Anonymous Tip Program

The Freehold Police Department created the TXT2TIP program so that you can anonymously and safely help rid your community of crime by sending information to the Freehold Police Department via a text message from your cellular phone. Follow these easy steps to submit a tip via text message.

Create a new text message or SMS text on your cellular phone

1. Enter the number 274637 (CRIMES) in the "TO" line
2. In the message box, type the word LPD, a space, and then your crime tip information
3. Send the text message

You will automatically receive a system generated message back on your cell phone acknowledging your tip. Your identity will not be sent to the Freehold Police Department.

And not a moment too soon, Brother Nobar!!!

While driving by the Freehold Mall this morning I saw something very suspricious.

I took a quick photo and then sent a text message to the police department and they put an immediate stop to this illegal activity. They charged this scofflaw with unlicensed solicitation of donations.

I felt satisfied with my humble effort to keep the community pure. I plan on donating the $500 Crimefighters reward to the church.

Officer Don: I have trained a team of rabid cats ready to seek out and stealthly attack and rip the eyes out of unsaved trash. They obey my every command (well, most of the time). I made a few anonymous calls this week. One was regarding leaving clothes out to dry where they are visible.

Another call I made was about the neighbor next door playing his radio all day long. I understand when there are workers about that they like to listen to some music, but it's understood that they will not be around forever. This guy is always there, and he's always blasting 98.5 WROK. The tunes aren't always bad, but I like to choose what I'm going to listen to and when, and not be forced to listen to the next guy's stereo if I don't want to.

There was also a party on Friday night. I waited until 10:05 and then I called in a complaint. It turned out that the party was winding down and the officer didn't arrive until 10:35, and most of the people were gone. The patrol car just slowly passed by the house and didn't even stop to verify the complaint. Thanks for the help guys. Next time maybe you can make contact and let the noisy jerks know that other people like to enjoy the peace and quiet here and not have to be part of your party, especially since I wasn't invited.
