Well, first off, you would not be able to see them because of the curvature of the earth, even if the lights were powerful enough......but for the argument's sake, let's say you are standing on the shore in Britain looking towards America, even if the sea was flat, you could not see New York's lights as they are simply too weak to travel 3000 miles. And I will tell you one more thing....even it was a light powerful enough in New York, you still (probably) would not see it because of 3000 miles of air filled with impurities, vapors, dust. At a scale down version, is like trying to look far away through heavy rain....you can't.

And perspective, of course. Despite what art class will tell you, the eye can't see forever.

It asserts something entirely spurious made up to make the person saying it sound clever by asserting something no ordinary person is in a position to disprove in any way that stands up to scrutiny. It's based solely on the imagination of the person making the assertion and taking full advantage of the simple logical principle that you can't disprove the existence of anything.

Meanwhile we have the inerrant and perfect word of God as a counterpoint to your madness and speculation. God keeps it simple. Things happen because He wants it to be that way.

So you actually saying that in the morning when sun rises on one "edge of the world" it is colder because it is further, but yet closer than the other "edge of the world" where is warmer ? Wait.....WHAT ??

And also you're saying the a globe 32 mile wide looked at from 500 miles away is almost the same as looked at from 5000 miles away ? How have you survived all this time ????
Imagine you look at a ball 32 inches across from 500 feet, the imagine the same ball you look at from 5000 ft.....do you see where I'm going ? Because to tell you the truth, I've traveled all over the world and I've seen sun rises and sun sets, and let me tell you, the sun appears with veeeeeeery small variations the same to me.

I don't understand why there is all this foolish talk. God can do whatever He wants and can design the heavens however He sees fit. An interesting fact is that He can also make the Sun go backwards if He wants.

Isaiah 38:8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.

And who would you be to contradict him? To do that would be amazingly presumptuous of you, for as to him, you are just an ignorant child.

Actually, I answered you quite well. Why you go asking questions that are utterly consequential in the grand scheme of things is beyond me. God created scientific observation to make you look foolish. You hunt after some sort of truth as to what's around you when the only thing that matters is obeying God. You are distracted by wanting to know all of these questions (which are answered in the Bible), and when you are given your answer, you still aren't satisfied. You reject the word of Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

There are only two options in life. Read the Bible, cover to cover, and follow it to the letter, or burn in eternal Hellfire. Which are you going to choose? I pray you choose Christ!
