Hello everyone, I'm a newly found christian, living with the love of god. I found Christianity through a rehabilitation program, and my life has been changed since. This topic is what actually brought me to this forum, and I'm quite interested in it. I don't quite understand. How can the world so blindly accept all these lie's about the world. If there is so much evidence that the earth is flat, why do the heathens in my town, the "scientist" who write these books(non as good as the book) and make these pictures giving people false information. Is it not clear that god and his followers, knew all, and spreads his love through the power of truth. And if gravity and centripital force are lies, how do we explain these things in naturally occuring occurances on earth.

Please help me be with god further.

OK....it seems we have had a whole slew on noobs come on and simply repeat loads of objections that have previously been dealt with on LOADS of occasions before so as we approach the 500 page mark on this thread it might be well worth a very quick recap of the most common objections raised so far and how they have been countered previously with True Christian science.

1) Jump!
So far we have heard that this is wrong because of wind resistance, because there isn't wind resistance, because we are outside, because we are inside.

We should try jumping, throwing or dropping things while traveling (all far too dangerous it might be said) and that will somehow magically prove that God is wrong.

Not one atheist so far has been able to disprove using scriptures the wonderful work of Rev. Osbourne.

RESULT = Win For GOD!

2) Blow!
We have heard all sorts of gibberish about gravity affecting this despite several True Christians being super patient early on in the thread and using much, much larger object than the balloon originally suggested. When this was tried the experiment proved even more conclusive and no matter how large the item used no discernible effect was found. Therefore the earth is flat, gravity is proved to be a myth and by association Intelligent Pulling is also proved to be scientifically correct.

RESULT = An even more emphatic win for GOD!

3) Get High!
On this one the most common object that loads of heathens suggest is that if you go up in an aeroplane you can see the earth is spherical. I have dealt with this objection previously so here is a quick recap of these points and the rebuttal of the same:

1) go up in a plane and look out a window, you'll see the curvature of the earth.
1/ Due to the thick glass used to counter the cabin pressure this distorts the view.

2) go 30 miles out to sea and look at the horizon, you'll notice that you don't see any land. Again because the earth surface is curved.
2/ So according to this the earth must be round because I can't stand on the Mull of Kintyre and look west and see Canada? Lord help this child...it's because we can't see that far...simples.

3) monitor the progress of the sun across the sky, this changes due to the earths axial tilt.
3/ Yes no one has disputed that the sun goes round the earth....thanks

4) walk in one direction for long enough, you'll reach you're starting point eventually.
4/ No....no you won't...you'll drown...unless you are Jesus...in which case you'll keep on walkin!

All the points raised have been successfully dealt with and no valid objections upheld.

RESULT = Win for GOD!

I hope I have covered off most of the easy objections here - Before you post please read back on the thread to make sure that your point hasn't been covered and answered by a True Christian already.

Ok first off I believe in God but this is just rediculous. The world is not flat and no we would not fall off. Gravity and pressure keep everything in order. the world is round causing different places to have different time zones. If it wasn't the world would not turn on its axis giving us seasons,times and weather, causing crops to grow and other things. so if it was flat our resorces would deteriate and the world would slowly die.

That is absolute Biblical and scientific Bullcrap! I have been to places around the line of longitude marked as 0 degrees, what you sinners call the equator - the seasons are unmarked by the year and yet - wait for it - things grow!

And we get seasons time and weather without a spherical earth, so what does that prove?

You didn't ever defend your point. You asked for more proof. Dr. Bob or Jrocker DO NOT NEED TO GIVE MORE PROOF. Instead, YOU should provide proof for your side.

However, "Other things" involve night and day, eclipses, tides, time zones (not time itself, but that is something), and many others that would take much to long to list.

We know the Earth is flat because the Bible tells us so. But for those of you skeptical, close-minded types that flat out refuse to accept the overwhelming Biblical evidence, I have designed some experiments you can do at home that will show you, before your very eyes, that the world is indeed flat, and not spherical as some crazy scientists proclaim. It's amazing how many people blindly believe in a spherical Earth, without ever having seen it for themselves! I intend to change that.


1) Jump!
If you were to stand in the flat bed of a truck going 75 mph, and jump straight up, what would happen? You wouldn't fall straight down. You would fall out of the truck. That's because trucks move, the Earth doesn't. This experiment proves the Earth is fixed in space and doesn't move.


2) Blow!
This can be disproved very simply. Get a balloon and inflate it as big as possible. It will be a spherical shape. Now, take a piece of paper and try to rip, tear, or cut the tiniest speck of paper possible. This paper represents a human being, much smaller in mass to the balloon, which represents the Earth. Now try and place the small piece of paper to the underside of the balloon. What happens? It falls off!

That's right. Even though the balloon is so much bigger in mass, it cannot hold the tiny paper. So if the Earth was a sphere, no one could live below the equator because they would fall off.


3) Get High!
If the Earth was a sphere, it would not matter how high you went, you would still see the same thing. Since this is not the case, the Earth is flat.

To counter his first, point, there's a really easy thing you too can do at home! (Credit to Dr. Bob for this point) Go in your car. Have somebody besides you driving. Throw a ball in the air and see what happens, or jump and see what happens. You stay in the same place! The reason you'd fall off on a flatbed is because of motion. When you jump, the whole vehicle is not encased. The wind, which is not wind, but stationary air, causes you to slow down and lose momentum. The ground is not moving with the truck either. The truck continues, but you stop as you are no longer part of the truck. In other words, the world, wind, and especially ground, does not move with the truck. The reason you don't land miles away from your start point is that not only does wind and land move with the Earth, but also because you have the same momentum as Earth when you jump.

His 2nd point is even more ridiculous. The ratio of mass from a piece of paper to a baloon is barely anything; I don't think he has any idea what "mass" is. A blown up balloon's mass is about the same as a tiny piece of paper, not different. Even if the balloon and the paper were sized up a million times more, the masses would still not be identical to the Earth and a person. A person is probably 1/1,000,000,000,000 the mass of Earth (probably even less!), where as a piece of paper might not even be 1/10 the mass of a balloon, even if the paper is tiny. He is simply overestimating the mass of a blown balloon. Likewise, microscopic organisms might be pulled to a large rock.

His third point is overly ridiculous. There is no way I can counter this, but not because it is a good point. This point is incredibly false and outrageous. Here's a way you can prove his point false: go to the beach! It's fun for the whole family, and you can get involved with science at the same time. Look out into the water. You can literally see the curvature of the Earth. Other than that, there is no way to prove the curvature of the Earth without sailing the globe or going to outer space yourself. I'm not sure if you've been keeping up with news, but a few months ago, a 16 year old sailed the globe and came back alive.

I don't have to know the exact masses. Only rocket scientists know the exact masses. Here's a way you can test it RIGHT NOW!!!!!

Rip off a piece of paper. Blow up a balloon. Put one on each hand. Fell their relative weights, as weight on Earth is closely related to mass.

Now pick up a medium sized rock. Compare THAT to the piece of paper. This is a more realistic look at Earth; it is not filled with CO2, but it is solid.

In other words you just made all that up and you don't know what mass is. Which is what we all thought. Like most non science experts (and idiot that you are) you confuse mass and weight.
