Heres a "scientific" investigation you can try to prove gravity exists, throw a large object directly upwards in the air, and stand underneath it. does it return to earth and knock you out? if so.. chances are, gravity is real.

...and your point is? What's this "displacement" got to do with anything? Do thin boats sink and fat ones hardly touch the water?

Boats float because God designed them like that because He knew His Son would be a fisherman.

Then how do planes fly?

The reasons boats float are simple:
- Air is lighter then water.
- Water is lighter then metal (or whatever ships nowadays are made of).
Metal would sink in water, because its heavier.
But the shape of the metal doesn't let water in when it's placed in the water. That's why ships sink when there's a hull breach, water gets in, the ship's hull loses the air that keeps it floating, and the ship sinks to the bottom of the ocean.

At your earlier post. I wouldn't call myself a scientist. I just think a lot. I like thinking. It calms me and makes me feel good about myself.

To expand on what I think about the Theory of Sight;
I think you are right in your hypothesis. The rays stop and force the light straight back to you. But in that sense, how can we see stars? Is it the stars we see, or the light of the stars hitting the atmosphere?

I also have a hypothesis about the earth being flat / round.
I think the earth is physically flat, but dimensionally round (I must sound crazy, right?) So it has properties of being a flat object. Down is down, and up is up.
But when you move, the world arounds you curves so people might think it's spherical, but up will always remain up and down will always remain down. The world just bent as you moved. And this works for everyone, no matter how far they are apart. That's why I say it's physically flat. I know this might sound stupid, but that's propably because I find it very hard to comprehend myself.

Couple of questions for you though, because I'm uneducated and ignorant and seek to change.

1: If the world is actually flat and all I've ever known is a lie, then which order are the continents in? Is Europe and asia, then the Americas, then Africa? (Left to right) or is it Americas, Africa, Europe and Asia?

2: What is the sun, and conversely, what is the moon if we do not actually orbit the sun and the moon does not actually orbit us?

3: Where is Antarctica actually?

4: What were the Dinosaurs? Were they real? What are the "Fossils" we're finding now?

5: I'm Irish, does God hate me, if so why? I didn't ask to be born Irish.

6: If gravity doesn't exist, then what makes me fall down when I trip? If Centrifugal force isn't real, then why does a boiled egg spin better than an unboiled one? (BTW, are eggs okay to eat?)

7: Will the world end in 2012?

8: How many sheep do I have to sacrifice to gain favor? Or should I just settle for my first born son? Or are there other ways to do that that won't get me arrested now?

9: Did Al Gore, or God, Invent the internet?

10: Is America going to go to hell now that there's a black president? Or is that only if he's re-elected?

11: Why are the people in Jerusalem not white any more? Did they all move to America and Europe and get replaced by unholy people?

The US of A is in the center, the rest of the countients are around us. Take a look at a map.

The sun is made of fire. It rotates around the earth as do all the planets.

Nice try, but ships aren't airtight, so the air does not keep the ship floating, the air can escape at any time. Fact is that making a hole in a ship causes water to enter which drowns the captain. Without a live captain on board it's obvious the ship will sink, just like a car will crash when the driver gets a heart attack.

People fly and sail ACROSS the world, not around it. I have done both.

I am not "trying" anything.
I know the air can escape at any time. But that's not the point. Why would the air leave? What is there to replace the air? Nothing...unless water poors in, which it doesn't because that's what the metal hull is for. to keep the water out.

A boat can remain floating forever without captain. Just go to your local harbor. Most ships don't have anyone on them, nor would those ships sink when their captain dies. This works the other way around, creating a raft made of bricks will sink, captain or not.

Then again, I do realise creating a boat is crafsmanship which in Noah's story, was done by the knowledge of God. He gave Noah (and with that all / most humans) the knowledge needed to craft ships.
