OK, there's your claim.

Now where's your evidence?

Not only did Imperial Rome have methods to preserve writings but so did the earlier Greeks and indeed the Israelites in the form of scrolls as I'd have thought was well known seeing how they obsess over the things at every opportunity. If there were no 1st century scrolls of The Old Testament preserved then what would be the point of rewriting them all to excise references to Jesus being the messiah and then destroying all the earlier ones [earlier meaning prior to the Masoretic text]?

Let's check out some archæological FACTS:

Dead sea scrolls
• The scrolls are most commonly made of animal skins, but also papyrus and one of copper. They are written with a carbon-based ink, from right to left, using no punctuation except for an occasional paragraph indentation. In fact, in some cases, there are not even spaces between the words.
• The Scrolls have revolutionized textual criticism of the Old Testament. Interestingly, now with manuscripts predating the medieval period, we find these texts in substantial agreement with the Masoretic text as well as widely variant forms.

So not "spread by word of mouth" after all but written on durable media which survived quite well, except for their having to be buried during the war experience and being set fire to a couple of millennia later.

Codex Sinaiticus
• Codex Sinaiticus is one of the most important books in the world. Handwritten well over 1600 years ago, the manuscript contains the Christian Bible in Greek, including the oldest complete copy of the New Testament.

Well that one seems to have survived just fine. There is no oral tradition here. But when the gothic mind interprets the world—a world so grossly at variance with the one transmitted by word of mouth from one goth to another in the mosh pit—gibberish is the best we can expect. And gibberish is what we get.

Goth is a deplorable type of heathen culture that glorifies everything that is vile and unholy. The dictionary defines "Goth" as: A crude uncouth ill-bred person lacking culture or refinement. This pretty much sums up the Goth culture today. Goth glorifies things that are sick, nasty, improper, freakish, and downright demonic...

The Goth culture includes Emos/ punks/ Wiccan witches/ self-abusers/ thrashers/ grungers/ heavy metallers, et cetera. This includes the Marilyn Manson, AC/DC, Smashing Pumpkins, Van Halen and Ozzy Osbourne crowd as well.

Goth causes teenage girls to become whores, depresses kids to the point of cutting themselves, and turns otherwise normal kids into Columbine shooters. The Goth culture is obsessed with death and the darker side of life, which is clearly evidenced in Goth music. Goth is of the Devil.

Goth in itself is a mental illness, a sickness of the soul, mainly affecting teenagers in the same way as schizophrenia would, although to a greater extent. Its symptoms range from isolation and negativity to aggression and hate for humanity, depression, violent outbursts, low self esteem, self-loathing, self-harming and suicide. Many Goths turn to a life of crime to feed their addiction to drugs, sadism, violence and perversion.

There is a theme running through all these different types of gothic groups, and a common fashion and dress that all tribes of Goth wear. The clothing is usually dark and sinister looking, sometimes called the 'gothic uniform.' Goth women often wear black lip stick and paint their eyes so dark with mascara that they look like vampires. Goths are all obsessed with death and despair, with terror and violence, and most Goths use drugs as a form of everyday life. Some abuse their children, perform Satanic rituals, and drink human blood...

The Dangers of Rock Music

...Rock music attacks the nervous system, affecting one's emotional state. Is it any wonder why Americans, now more than ever before, are blowing-up in anger, flying off the handle, committing suicide, and losing their minds?

Goth is particularly dangerous because the lyrics to the music often glamorize killing, brutality, sadism, masochism, pedophilia, torture, freakism, and all sorts of heathendom. The music is often characterized by relentless yelling and screaming, freakish embellishments of the voice, evil sounding backgrounds, etc. There just a bunch of sickos. Magician, Criss Angel, has made millions of dollars with his "Mind Freak" series, and he definitely fits in well with the Goth freak culture. Criss Angel's theme song is characterized by his own voice screaming "mind freak" repeatedly at the top of his lungs. This is Satanic. We read in the Bible in Philippians 2:5, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." God doesn't want us to walk around singing "mind freak" (which a person cannot help but hear repeatedly in their memory after watching one of Criss Angel's shows). Satan is the freak of freaks. Jesus called Satan the father of all liars (John 8:44).

It is not difficult to let Lucifer into your home (1st Peter 5:8). The Apostle Paul prophesied in 2nd Timothy 3:6 of the future time when lustful men would creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lust. From the witchcraft of Sabrina, to the lewdness of Hugh Hefner; from the whores of Desperate Housewives, to the demonic New Age indoctrination of Oprah Winfrey; from the homosexuality of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, to the lasciviousness of nearly every prime time TV program―Americans have opened the door wide for Satan to creep right into our homes...

This is the modern definiton that applies to Goths today. Goths are fans of Goth Rock. Like Bauhaus, The Cure, Southern Deault Cult, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Specimen, Angels of Liberty, The Drowning Season, Faith and the Muse, and Solemn Novena. The bands you have mentioned; Marilyn Manson, AC/DC, Smashing Pumpkins, Van Halen and OZzy Osbourne are not Goth bands, Nor does Goth culture include Emos, Thrashers, Grungers or Heavy Metal. It's possible for someone to like more than one genre of music, but all of those things are other genres of music/fans of other genres of music.

Goth doe snot cause teenagers to be whores. Goth doesn't do anything expect provide a place for people to listen to Goth Rock, dance to it, and see bands. It does not depress people and most Goths do not cut themselves. This is a misconception. The Columbine shooters were also not Goths. This was a misportrayal by the media. There is no evidence that any school shooting or attack involved real Goths. Liking a genre of music is not a mental illness and it doesn't make you violent or suicidal. We don't use drugs either or abuse our children. Only vampires drink blood and only Satanists perform Satanic rituals.

There is no evidence that "Goths are whores." Do you have a police report where a Goth wrote that he arrested a Goth for prostitution or solicitation or that a Goth club was shut down for running a prostitution ring? And go ahead. Explain to me how listening to a genre of music causes you to charge people money for sex.

Very few teens are even Goth. Most don't understand what the word means. They wouldn't even be allowed into most Goth clubs or concerts as those are usually 18+. Most Goths are in committed relationships and don't have sex with random people for money. They only have sex with their boyfriends/girlfriends, husbands/wives, etc.,

The very notion that one cannot be something until or unless one is 18 is reason for concern.


One can become a Christian from a very early age--and one should, because one can be sent to hell from a very early age. (Very early.)


Because Goths cannot have children of their own kind, given that no one is born a Goth, then they must recruit numbers for their Goth hordes from amongst other people's children.


All the more reason to shield our children from the Goth menace.

Every time we are visited by one of these people who speak against the teachings of Landover Baptists it turns out that they are confirmed enemies of God. I'm sure there must be a reason for this, and that reason is because Landover Baptists are speaking for God via a literal understanding of the King James Bible.

Sooner or later these people will stop wasting our time with their rants and just go and read the KJV from cover to cover and see that we at Landover are totally in touch with just how real God is.

All children go through phases, it's unavoidable. Of course, a phase such as "goth" is an affront to your values, but you can't stop a child from trying to find out what kind of person they want to be. It's called a phase because it is only temporary. How many mature adults do you know of that are goth. The worst thing you can do is try to make them stop. This will only push them further away, and goths are comically rebellious. Giving them such a reason to hate you will make them more goth, if not anything else. The best thing you can do is ignore it, and let them figure out for themselves that this just isn't the kind of person they want to be. They'll find their way. And pardon my pun but, have a little faith.
