No wonder none of you have wives or husbands. You're all ludicrous, rude, and outlandish. Nothing you say is of gods word, you recite scriptures that fit the situation you want it to. The Bible is a book that needs to be read an a whole.
That's like just pulling the word "pretty" out of this sentence : "she is pretty ugly."

See how that was twisted? It does say "she is pretty" but "UGLY" is ALSO in there.
Just like you people, you're all so ugly on the inside. God won't love you, even if he is real. Using his words for bad and hurt isn't what he wanted, from what I've read. And yes, I've read the bible. Even though I don't believe in God. But I realize it's FULL of long ago beliefs and morals, which in today's society has changed GREATLY.
No longer is it okay to separate men and women. That's against the law. Women are just as equal as men, I don't give a flying bat what the bible says.

I know this may come as a surprise to you but the Bible doesn't just say that God is pretty either.

We read the WHOLE Bible. Even the bits that make us initially feel uneasy or sometimes, frankly, a bit nauseous. Over the fullness of time and as your faith grows you become less and less repelled until finally you can manage to despise gays, for example, with ease even though on the outside they may be kind, loving, caring and hard working individuals. With the Bible to reveal their true inner nature you are never in danger of them seducing you into AIDS and then Hell.

The wisdom about women is marvellous and explains a lot about why they are a constant vexation to the spirit when not properly disciplined.

Where did god come from? How do you know this "god" wrote a bible when language wasn't even developed then? If god is the answer, why are there so many OTHER religions that have completely different gods? Hell, black people think god is black so does that mean they are going to hell? Why don't I see heaven in the sky? If you would simply open a history book you would see that the earliest form of human beings called australopithecines were the first human-like creatures to walk upright but their head was shaped the same a monkey. Primates were the first living things that had developed opposable thumbs which made for further development much easier. Also, it took the world 6 BILLION years to be fully created, not 6 days, 6 BILLION YEARS. The world today is still changing as we speak in what ways we are still unsure. Atheism is a spreading rapidly across the world. Without it, we would probably be living like cavemen did because we would expect god to give us everything. While you are worshiping this notorious "god" I will be finding ways to better improve mankind and find sudden breakthroughs in today's advanced technology. Bye.

Pathetic, if you want to start your own religion you should make it a bit more convincing than claiming to have your own holy book called "history book", which you follow literally, and you claim it contains answers about where earth comes from, where humans come from and how your religion spreads over the world. Sounds to me as if you're simply copying our Bible but replacing God with atheism, devil and science.

Well guess what? I can play your game too! What proof do you have that your so called "history book" is true? The events it portrays were before language, even before humans, if there was no language and no humans, who wrote it? Who is this god of yours that doesn't exist but still can see what's happening for 6 billion years and write it all down in a book for you? And tell me, how could you have read your entire "history book"? The real 6000 years of history takes over 1200 pages, if there really was such a thing as a "history book" it would be over a billion pages long because it covers a million times as much time. (I hope this isn't too abstract) But, I noticed that Atheists are really afraid of death, so they refuse to eat good wholesome American food like Roast Beef, Bacon, Sour Cream, Cheddar Cheese, Chili Cheese Fries, Dairy Queen Snicker's Blizzard, etc... Just imagine how miserable life would be if you spent it eating soy beans and wheat grass because you were afraid to die because you secretly knew you were going to HELL!

I just wanna interject into this fairly big argument here.

I am a Christian, born in the UK to a Christian family, attended church all my life and now attend Audacious Church in Manchester. I am also a computer scientist, but taking modules in physics too.

My view on this subject is that you Christians are not being Christian. At our church we have found the best way for people to come to God is not to tell them they are wrong, but to accept them for who they are and allow them to realise God's truth. Calling them "dumb" and "retarded" will NOT save them, which is your mission as a Christian. Essentially, you are doing more for the enemy by making enemies of people you should be helping.

Likewise, you should not instantly dismiss scientific theory. The church supported universities in the UK (mine was started up over a hundred years ago by the cathedral) helping scientists better the human race. When they come back with evidence you should not throw it all out of the window. Evolution is very well accepted and I accept it myself. As a human, I believe it is all our duties to see reason, weigh up the evidence, and make up our own minds. I believe that we have the creation story, not because that is the literal truth as to what happened, but a metaphor for how humanity came about. If God had dictated what is now accepted by the scientific community as fact, the bible would have been a lot longer, and early believers substantially more confused. Jesus used parables to explain truths, why could the creation story not just be that too?

Finally, atheists. Enjoy the variety this world gives, if we have fundamental Christians we also have fundamental atheists. I think http://www.xkcd.com/774/ sums it up nicely. If you don't agree with them, there is no point arguing with them. They will not accept your views easily, even if they are correct.

I hope I have added a new view to this discussion - hopefully one a little more balanced.

I think the issue with this lies in the word tolerate. Yes, we tolerate them. That is a part of life. If we tolerate no-one then how are we meant to spread the good news. Jesus dined with sinners, is that not tolerating them.

I believe the words you were looking for were 'agree with' or accept. I do believe practices such as witchcraft and homosexuality are fundamentally wrong. I'm gonna leave Jews up to God to judge. As for atheists, don't think of them as that. Think of them as challenges.
