unfortunatly i do not read it as much as i should, but i do listen to His word and told through my pastors and family.

Your pastor probably reads from the Word less than three minutes and talks for forty. You're not listening to the Word, you're listening to your pastor. Read the Bible yourself. You'll be amazed to really know our LORD and Savior.

I've started my own study session with my best friend who goes to the Honor Academy in Texas. He'll call me and give me a verse, and we talk about it together, like its meaning and what God wants us to learn from it, etc.

So i am working on it!

Avoid twisting it. Read it as a child would. If God says something He means it, not what you think He ought to have said if you catch the scripture by surprise out of the corner of your eye.

okay ,thanks. usually if i dont understand something that a scripture says, ill ask someone that i know is smart in the Word, or ill pray God to give me the meaning that i'll understand.

One of the nice things about this forum is there is always someone here who can help clarify things. It's very easy to twist the Word into something that sounds good for today, but watering down the faith isn't doing anyone any good. We have a great number of very faithful True Christians™ here and a large pastoral staff to count on. You're in good hands here.

To back up what Mary is saying.

At first you will think, "But gays seem like such nice people. They're no more evil than anyone else I meet. Sure, some of them are nasty but then so are normal people." Your gut feeling will be to reject God's wisdom.

But as you realise God is right about so many other things like Darwin being utterly wrong about evolution or liberals saying you should not beat your children you will realise gays are indeed an abomination and should be shunned only because secular law won't allow us to kill them. You will be able to take on the mantle of Christianity as God, not people trying to manipulate you into following their prejudices of the moment, wanted you to behave. You will be Saved!

You don't have children, do you? Children and women can't be "reasoned" with. They are both prone to emotional instability and irrational desires. They, that is we, seek immediate gratification and so a physical reminder does more to control those impulses than any words falling on deaf ears. Just because you give in to your impulses doesn't make it a Good Thing.
