Amen, Brother. I think we should all pray that Octavia sees the Light of Jesus and rejects Satan's perverse lies. We could always use another soul in Heaven to help us worship the Lord without pause for all eternity.

I hope so, because at the moment she's lost in a world of listening to fluffy Bible groups that pick and choose what to focus on and skip anything that might trouble her sweet brain.

I thought at first she was a willing agent of antichrist but I wonder now if she hasn't been duped and is a patsy of false prophets and sincerely believes she is a True Christian™

That doesn't mean the Earth is flat. the "4 corners" could refer to 4 different points of interest on the Earth.

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and he hath set the world upon them. - 1 Samuel 2:8
That doesn't say it's flat either.

The moon reflects light from the sun, and it does so very well. This doesn't say anywhere that the moon is it's own light source, it just means that the moon won't reflect it from the sun.

I don't loathe you guys, I just get quite annoyed with the people here.

You guys should learn to respect people, even if they have different beliefs. Instead of saying something disrespectful and mean to newcomers you should welcome them. If they have different beliefs, don't tell them that they are wrong. While they are going through discussions they might realize a few things. If you say harsh things right off the start all you do is make them NOT want to join you.

Where does it say in the Bible we should respect the beliefs of others?
Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

Where does it say we should welcome heathens?
2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Why should we not rebuke people who are going to Hell? Shouldn't we try to stop them damning themselves? What kind of monster are you?
Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

People are not well served in Salvation™ by being told lies about whether God hates them for their sin. I know you've been told to sugar the pill but if some dreadful queer asks me if it's OK for him to fornicate with men would you rather I told him straight or wibbled on about God loves everyone with no foundation whatever in fact?

Bearing false witness about the Lord does not come easy to those truly moved by the Holy Spirit.

Hello Octavia, I noticed a new introduction thread and thought I would pop by to welcome you to our friendly little forum. But after reading the rude and argumentative tone of your posts and seen the way you willfully misinterpret and twist holy scripture, I do not feel quite so inclined to welcome, you as before. Please, read your Bible, curb your disrespectful tongue and I shall review my decision to welcome you or not, in a few days time.

Yes, you have been kind and respectful. If the others were like you then I am positive that you would have so many more members here.

Though, I do not see how I have been disrespectful to the people here. It is they who attack me, not the other way around.

But you rudely ignored me, over and over. And you say I am one of the few nice people you have met. Is that how your treat nice people?

So how do people get Saved(c) if they are not tolerated and invited into your church, is that what you want to know?

It never ceases to amaze us the number of so-called "Christians" ask us this question. If they would only blow the dust off of their Bibles and put their noses into the 16th Chapter of Mark, they would find that Jesus commands us to evangelize the world! He didn't say, "find a comfortable pew each Sunday morning and cross your fingers in hopes that some unsaved piece of human refuse will walk through the doors of your church." No, he said, ""Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel." That word, "go" there is a verb. And for those of you illiterate, misguided Christians who allow unsaved people through the doors of your church each Sunday morning, a verb is an "action word," and "go" means "GO!" as in "leave," or "SCRAM!" It doesn't mean, sit on your hiney! The only place for evangelism is outside the confines of the Lord's four-walled holy dwelling place. God's home is a place for True Christians™ to fellowship. Allowing an unsaved person into church is like Rush Limbaugh inviting Hillary Clinton to a meeting of Republicans on how to defeat the Democrats in 2012. It's something you JUST DON'T DO! PERIOD!

                          Unsaved NOT Welcome!
                          Who Will Jesus Damn?

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

Why would we do that? All life could be snuffed out by Jesus in the blink of an eye. Before you know it, the earth could be consumed in fire.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

Would you knock politely on your neighbor's door and ask them, if it's not too much trouble, could they please get out of the burning building?
Of course not! You would scream "fire" at the top of your lungs.

That's all we are trying to do for your immortal soul, young lady. We only do it because we care.

Octavia, correct me if I’m wrong, but you were not insulted here, but at worst harshly contradicted; in opposite, accept my apology for any True Christian™ that incidentally insulted you in his sincere zeal. Now, you claim that a large part of Biblical verses are metaphors or parables.

The Truth® we all are trying to make you aware of is that we have to follow the Holy Bible word by word - as per 2 Timothy 3:16, Proverbs 30:5-6 and especially James 2:10: “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”

We True Christians™ hold the Holy Bible as the literal, inerrant Truth; read the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy:

                                - “We affirm that the Holy Scriptures are to be received as the authoritative Word of God (Article I)
                                - “We affirm that the whole of Scripture and all its parts, down to the very words of the original, were given by divine inspiration” (Article VI).
                                - “We affirm that Scripture, having been given by divine inspiration, is infallible, so that… it is true and reliable in all the matters it addresses” (Article XI).

You can’t pick from the Bible only those parts that incidentally match to your worldview. Let me repeat for the two thousandth time: those who believe that God is some kind of a kind, peace-loving hippy are living in denial. The Holy Bible is absolutely clear about that; read Psalm 137:9, Psalm 144:1, Numbers 31:17, Deuteronomy 7:1-2, Deuteronomy 13:15, Deuteronomy 20:16, Joshua 6:21, Joshua 10:40-41, Hosea 13:16, Ezekiel 21:4-5, Matthew 12:30 etc.
