Scientists: dolphins should be treated as 'non-human persons'

This should probably be read with a grain of salt:
Scientists say dolphins should be treated as 'non-human persons'
Dolphins have been declared the world’s second most intelligent creatures after humans, with scientists suggesting they are so bright that they should be treated as “non-human persons”.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Brother Nobar, I assume this pushes nigras down another rung, doesn't it?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Then "scientists" are wrong! I have practical experience with dolphins: http://www.landoverbaptist.net/showpost.php?p=191325
I remember on the trip out there, I left my credit card next to one of the baby dolphins; the damn thing ate it – not what you’d call smart…

        From the article:

Dolphins have long been recognised as among the most intelligent of animals but many researchers had placed them below chimps, which some studies have found can reach the intelligence levels of three-year-old children.
Oohh! Smart as a three-year-old? Wow!
My three year old still poops in his pants. How smart is THAT?

Dolphins intelligent? Show me one example of a dolphin who attends a church, engages in prayer or accepts Jesus and I'll believe you.
            Sweet Lord Jesus,
I want to pray for those who persecute me, my Lord.
Please, treat their children as you treated those of Egypt, when they upset you! (Psalm 135:8-9)
Dash their little children against the stones for their fathers iniquity! (Psalm 137:8-9)
Hit them on the cheek, and smash out their teeth! (Psalm 3:7)
Make their death and descent into Hell swift and terrible! (Psalm 55:15)
Scatter their broken bodies over the streets of their evil cities, like Benghazi, Amsterdam, Tokyo and Mecca! (Psalm 110:6)
            Praised be Your Glorious Name™.

            Amen.

Re: Scientists: dolphins should be treated as 'non-human persons'

It's funny how these scientists, who are supposed to be all smart, make the oxymoronic mistake of calling them "non-human persons". Um, if all humans are persons, and all persons are humans, how can that be? Are these scientists going to next announce a "four-sided triangle"?

But really, how smart can fish be? Just because they can get them to jump through hoops doesn't mean anything. Dogs can do that. Cats are also pretty intelligent, but I think that's because they've made a pact with the devil. Ever look at a cat? They always look like they're plotting something and up to no good.

Heck, when I was a kid, I had a pet hamster that was pretty smart. He would escape from his cage, and when I'd put up a block, he'd find another way out. Those things are pretty smart. But I'd hardly call them human! Or a "non-human person" That's just so idiotic. These are people with Ph.D's? Seriously?

I don't care what these scientists say, some stupid fish like the dolphin will never be second in intelligence. What's next? Are goldfish able to calculate Pi to 10,000 digits?

              Oh these stupid scientists!

All I know is I can not tell the difference between dolphin and tuna in the can. Then once you dump in a jar of mayonnaise, some mustard, celery, red, green and yellow bell peppers I deify anyone to discern the two.

Re: Scientists: dolphins should be treated as 'non-human persons'

I’m not sure what these people want of us if they say we should treat dolphins as ‘non-human’ persons. I think I’d need a little more information about dolphins. Do they vote Republican? Are they minded to be Christian (obviously, without a soul, they cannot be but I’m looking to their general philosophy)? They certainly will hunt seal cubs and eat them alive, so they are neither vegetarians nor too liberal and believe in the death sentence for most everything.

Anyhoo, intelligence is little enough reason to protect anything; many atheists claim intelligence and I see no reason to give them rights. There are homers whose stupidity is staggering and they all want ‘rights’ too.

Don't get smart with me boy. Dolphins are fish. They live in the ocean and have gills (in their case a blowhole on top of their head). I think I'm smart enough to know what a fish is.

Your post is downright ignorant, and you call yourself a pastor? Mammals are any creatures that have wombs, feed their young with milk, and breathe air. As dolphins meet all of these conditions, they can be considered aquatic mammals.

I don't need to be lectured on what a mammal is or isn't. Most of science is bunk anyways. Look at that evolution THEORY they keep spouting out, or the theory of a heliocentric solar system. I think you need to open up your eyes instead of believing what your scientist-gods you worship say with blind faith.
