Over and over again, we hear from the God Mockers that the Ark could not have existed because it was impossible (according to their scientists) for ancient people to build ships that big that floated.
How biased and hypocritical they are when they turn around and applaud the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans for nothing more than building Giant ships!
So let's take a look at What Genesis 6:14-16 says about Noah's ark.
14Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
15And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. 16A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
So 300 cubits, by 50 cubits, by 30 cubits. Absolutely impossible, even with the help of God, such a thing could not float. Or at least that's what we're being told.
But hold on, then they go on about the wonderous knowledge of the ancients in their next breath!
WARNING SICKULAR REFERENCES AHEAD!
Please ignore dates, as we all know that a sickular scientist would probably say he's billions of years old.
Lets start in Ancient Egypt.
The most famous is the Kufu Ship, coming in at aproximately 140' X 20'.
According to sickular scientists this boat was used in the water and floated just fine and was build around 2500 BC. So a little later than the flood.
Was that the biggest? Not by a long shot. Although the ships no longer exist, the sickular scientists seem to have no problem believing that the Egyptians used giant barges to move Obilisks up and down the Nile.
But the man had a passion for pleasure boats. But he also created two floating palaces that were 230 feet long.

I inspected the erection of two obelisks ////// built the august boat of 120 cubits in its length, 40 cubits in its width, in order to transport these obelisks. (They) came in peace, safety and prosperity, and landed at Karnak ////// of the city.

Note that he's describing the size of the Obelisks, so in order to transport two Obelisks the ship would have to be twice as big. Also these obelisks weighed hundreds of tons, so weight obviously wasn't an issue for the ancients. So if the Egyptians were capable of building a 240 cubit X 80 cubit ship, why is it so impossible for Moses to build a 300 cubit X 50 cubit ship with God's help?
But it's not just the Egyptians who were building giant ships. The Romans were at it as well.
National Geographic has a Roman cargo ship that was 100 feet long and carried 400 tons of cargo. Then there's Caligula's fleet. Not only did he create his Giant, or Round ship
This ship was used to transport the obelisk in St. Peter’s Square from Egypt on the orders of Roman emperor Caligula. Caligula’s Giant Ship was 104 meter (312 feet) long and a beam of 20.3 meters (61 feet) that could also carry 800 crew members. The ship was also called the round ship.
The Greeks also had what were called the http://www.mlahanas.de/Greeks/Ships/Ships.htm] [/I]Homeric ship I don't want to go further into that, I'm just discussing ship sizes here. Which were known to be approximately 100 feet long and 20 feet wide with 118 oarsmen. The Greeks claimed they could build one of these ships in 3 months.
So I throw the gauntlet down to the unbelievers and ask, which is it. Were the ancient people capable of building giant ships, thereby proving the existance of the ark? Or are you going to tell us that all of your sickular scientists are wrong just so you can go on with your sinful lifestyles. My personal belief is that you will carry on with your doublethought whereas you can say out of one side of your mouth that the ark is impossible and out of the other side praise the Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks for such amazing ships.
