Ok, lets play this fun game!

So, bible definition of love: 1 Corinthians 13 8-13. That's fairly standard.

Then we can add on 1 John 4:8. So pretty much meaning God imbues all these qualities.

And we don't really need to have a verse to say Jesus = God. Oh, what the heck - John 1:1.

I wanna see the argument against that logic! So when Jesus said, Love thy neighbour (Mark 12:31), he means to love everyone. Or at least treat everyone with the 1 cor. 13 values. So far I have not seen any patience, humility, honouring others and you are so easily angered (or so it would seem). This is probably the core of my argument as to why I see no True Christians™.

Wouldn't it be ironic if my pastor's last name was Feelgood? It isn't, but now I wish it was. Personally, I would prefer to hear I won the lottery if he was just going to tell me lies .

These words, they do not mean what you think they mean.

First off, I did not quote a specific bible. You can choose to read those verses from any bible translation you wish. Although I would go with a more modern one that are more accurate that the KJV. Also, as 17th Century English is not spoken in the 21st century, and meanings of words have changed - this leads to much of the confusion I am sure you have encountered.

Here is a simple test to see if you should read KJV or a more modern version:

say the phrase "Ye Olde English Shoppe" out loud.

If you didn't pronounce it The old english shop, then you should stick to newer translations or get a historical english degree first. I think it'd be more important to get a less accurate bible (by your standards) but the meaning be more obvious, than leave it up to non-intellectual extremists to confuse it and poison the minds of others.

Again, I think you have got very confused in the whole 'love' matter. It takes you many verses to explain that Jesus meant that we should all hate everyone who you do not like, but a lot less for me to explain how the world should function; in peace.

I asked you how Jesus loves. You said that God is love and Jesus is God. No argument there; if you'd ever read beyond this thread and your introduction thread, you'd see we agree.

Then you quoted Paul, not Jesus, to explain how Jesus loves. (Jesus didn't write 1 Corinthians, now did He? He didn't write the Gospels either, but they're the only place you'll find quotes from Him.)

How is hating Esau equivalent to loving everyone? What did Esau do, anyway?

How is drowning all humans except Noah and family, and all animals except a handful on the ark, equivalent to loving everyone? Bear in mind that Noah spent 100 years building the ark, and the Bible gives no indication that he said a peep to neighbors about the coming deluge or God's wrath. Wouldn't a lesser display have converted and saved many people? How is slowly drowning them "love"?

Why is it you cannot accept that, as the Bible clearly says, God loves AND hates, that He creates good AND evil?

Omnibenevolence is NOT a Biblical concept. God loves only those who follow Him, and punishes all others eternally.

Have just had the strangest dream after reading this, in my dream i was informed by a talking sea turtle (that i just knew was god) that we should be careful of false prophets as satan could just as easily have a book compiled at his wish by gullable humans, i also got told that back in the day satan questioned mans morals and god argued that the important children of his were intellegent enough to make informed choices and had instilled right and wrong in us from birth and had much faith in us, satan didnt agree so proposed many tests to which god agreed.

God himself suffered for our sins when our lord was crucified! and his love is vast! all people that sin aren't condemed yet! its only if they die in their sin that they are now sinners ...
God hates sin! not the sinners, if a sinner repents then god embraces him back into his flock and showers him with love!
but if that sinner never repents and ignore the message of our True GOD!
then all the wrath of the heavens will be bestowed upon him!!!!

This is not what an atheist would argue. They would argue there is no life or soul, so this argument is invalid. We argue the converse, but that life does come from God. However, to say that it defeats them by their own logic, science or that it is compressed is not correct. As of yet, there is no 'proof' of a life force; we only have faith that it exists.
