I believe the reasoning behind not allowing women to become priests is that women are allowed to experience the miracle of birth because of their anatomy. Since men cannot experience this, they are allowed to teach the word of God, and celebrate Mass (Priests, and brothers and nuns are all supposed to remain chaste. What a few do ruins the good name of many helpful priests out there). However, both women and men can become nuns or brothers, in order to fully devote their lives to God.
