There was on "until" with my dad like there is with God. You made a mistake, he punished, you learned your lesson and that was it! You did not want him to punish you twice for the same failing. Anyway, Bible does not contradict itself. So if it says that God hates sodomites AND says God loves all, it just means that sodomites are not included in all. Simple as that. It would be really stupid to write that God is merciful for all, except ( two pages of exceptions )

And when the Bible says that you should love your enemy AND it says that kill them, it just means that killing them is loving them. Simple, is it?

Analogy could be mathematics. In math, everything is based on something proved earlier. First you define natural numbers, then integers, real numbers etc. All the earlier rules exists with the new ones. So 2 - 1 = 1, not 2, because that how the rules are set. Of course the Bible is not as limited as math. If God (the Bible) says that 2 + 2 = 5, then it is so. God is omnipotent.
