    Hi all, Newbie question.

I have some concerns, as a Roman Catholic, am I welcome on these forums?

While I respect everyone's right to worship and religious freedoms, the vitriol and what I consider hogwash against the Roman Catholic church on some threads here, I see as an attack on my church.

I'm slightly concerned that if I profess my beliefs and traditions in discussion threads, then I may be on the end of a tongue lashing from some of the more conservative members of this forum. At the end of teh day do we not all worship the same God?

    No.

"Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds." (2 John 1:9-11)

You don't worship God. You worship the virgin Mary. You are an idolater and you will burn in Hell in accordance with Revelation 21:8
      To the atheists:

      To the false christians:

Feel like pissing off God? Perhaps this will change your mind:

      Hosea 13:16

        Re: Hi all, Newbie question.

We promise to do everything we can to make you feel like a loved and valued member of this community, as soon as you renounce the idolatrous cult of the antichrist Pope and become a Christian.
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

I worship God and the virgin Mary as well as our saviour Jesus christ.

          etc

I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father.

Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came
down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate
from the Virgin Mary, and was made man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with
the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right
hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living
and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped
and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets.

We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.

We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

This is the Niceen creed, or the Roman Catholic creed, basically it states that all you Prods, baptist and other so called Christians will burn in hell!!!

So, how are my beliefs wrong and yours right?

You've openly stated that you worship Mary, i.e., that you are a polytheist who has other gods before God.

I am not a polytheist I believe in one God. I believe in Mary the mother of God and pray for her succour and intersession.

I also believe in the Holy trinity, 1 God - 3 manifestations (The father, Son and Holy Ghost), do prods believe in the trinity? Does that make me a polytheist?

You just got through saying that you worship her. Which is it? Also, why pray to her for her succour and intercession when the Bible says the following:

1 Timothy 2:5-6: For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

No, it does not make you a polytheist, since the Trinity, unlike much of Catholic doctrine, is Biblically supported.

Since it's a false faith that will lead you to hell, of course we want you to renounce it. Do you think we want you to suffer eternally? What kind of monsters do you take us to be?

God forbid. Our holy father is Christ's representative here on Earth.
Would you care to back that up with Scripture? The only mention of a "Holy Father" in the KJV is the Father in Heaven:

John 17:11: And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we [are].

I joined this Website because I love scripture, I love studying it, I revel in the fact that it is so compex yet so simple.

How do you know which parts of the Bible are the inerrant Word of God and which parts are something else? Also, God promised to preserve His words:

Psalm 12:6-7: The words of the LORD [are] pure words: [as] silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

Isaiah 40:8: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Matt. 24:35: Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

So which of the following do you believe?
                          1. God preserved His Word, as He promised.
                          2. God reneged on His promise to preserve His Word, in which case He is not loving.
                          3. God couldn't preserve His Word, in which case He is a weakling.
                          4. The Bible was never God's Word to begin with.
                          5. There is no God.

If it's any of 2-5, in what sense are you a Christian?

Do you believe that Mary is the fourth member of the Trinity?

God forbid. Our holy father is Christ's representative here on Earth.
Why would He need a representative? Our Father is not here on Earth, he art in Heaven!

Whilst I do enjoy Scripture I do not regard every line as the inerrant Word of God.
But you do regard every piece of nonsense that the Pope happens to burble as being infallible, yes? How do you tell which parts of the Bible are inerrant and which ones aren't?

                              Perhaps I was hasty with my words, worship was not quite the right word, perhaps revere and adulate would be better. As Catholics, we do pray to Mary. We light candles for Succour, and one reason for this brings to mind the following;

My soul magnifies the Lord, And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
For He has regarded the lowly state of his maidservant; For behold,
henceforth all generations will call me blessed. (Lk 1:46-49)

From this, I believe that by praying to the Blessed virgin, her intercession magnifies the grace of God upon us.

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
