Thank you, it was interesting to read about these topics again. However, I didn't come to such a strong conclusion as you did, that the matter is absolutely settled. It seems to be under considerable debate still, and if anything, I found more compelling arguments actually on the pro-side.

You have an interesting way of reading, dear. I would like to call your attention to the fact that Sapir-Whorf hypothesis has two versions - the strong one (that we are helpless and our language pretty much dictates the way we see the world) and the weak one (that there are some aspects of our thinking which are somewhat influenced by our language). The weak version has some empirical data to support it, the strong one, well, doesn't.

From my own experience, translation is easy. When you know two languages (and two cultures which go with them) well enough, you can figure out how to translate even the most complicated concepts and metaphors. What is hard, is simultaneous interpretation - you have to come up with the same meaning in another language on the spot. Trust me, it is a really exhausting experience (especially if correct interpretation may influence somebody's life, like in court or hospital settings). Yet, it works, because cases of incorrect interpretation are rare.

Some wannabe Jesus sent a PM to me. He mentioned that I should give a look at THIS site. So I found many weird statements that explains a lot...

First of all, what is it with republicans? What does it have to do with Jesus or Christianity?

Secondly, the guy mentioned there that nearly 100 million people are following the "true" faith. That might explain why Americans are behind the rest of the world, by that I mean mostly at education (most of you even believe that the Earth is flat).

I could write more arguments or even a book if I had time but I'm not going to waste my life.

I'm using my brain, I don't need some "rules" that are written by people who aren't normal. There's nothing to do with my identity or my personal life so I have no point of doing that.
And I'm pretty sure, most of you don't do it aswell because, there are no scriptures, so I can take it as text which has no meaning .
