And I'm not arguing whether or not atheist mock christians, it's fairly obvious that they do. What I'm saying is that surely it would be better to just rise above it all, rather than creating more hate.

Ghandi is in hell for sure. Indians are the only people in the world who consider Ghandi to be a peaceful person. The rest of the world knows he was a weak little sadists who liked nothing more than beating his fragile wife silly with his walking stick.

As you can seel in Matthew 5:38 God has no problems with an eye for an eye so you should have no problems with it either!

I didn't mean to say that Gandhi's word is law, but only that what he said may have some truth. The more hatred from Christians will only spur more mockery and hatred from Atheists... Surely this is just a vicious circle that can lead to no good.

But as I said, Leviticus and also in Luke I believe, says to love thy neighbour as thyself, surely this suggests kindness and understanding to all (within reason I suppose).

You should not cherry pick from the Bible. We are supposed to follow all of it. This includes:

• Leviticus 19:15 "In righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour."
• John 7:24 "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."
  
• 2nd Timothy 4:1-2 "I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine."

Haven't you just done the same thing though? You are arguing against my views with select quotes from the Bible. I think it's impossible to follow all of the Bible, as many parts cross over one and other as we have just shown. Back on point, Atheist will always argue with Christians and vice versa, but adding more hate to this will only cause more problems.

The Bible does not cross over one another. I don't see where you say it does. You're comparing the Bible to Ghandi. Well he was a hell bound hindu.

You read Luke more it is quite clear when Jesus talks about "neighbor" He means fellow Christians. Within the Christian community Christians should show love and compassion to all. Outside of it a Christians shouldn't be associating with nob-believers.
