  • Pat Robertson says to ignore the Bible on slavery.

Liberals love to portray Pat Robertson as wanting to place America under strict Biblical government. If only! Here we see someone ask about certain Bible teachings that liberal false Christians hope no one will bring up, and Robertson comes out as a cafeteria Christian.

Did you catch that? Robertson admits that the Bible says what it says, but then he says that we have "moved in our conception of the value of human beings over the years" beyond what God Almighty has commanded us, until we have realized that His will is "terribly wrong."

Way to defend the authority of Scripture, Pat. Have fun in hell.

Re: Pat Robertson says to ignore the Bible on slavery.

You actually listen to Robertson he is just another feel good, false trying to re-write The Bible. I won't be surprised if Robertson is going to go complete hippie and tell us to vote for OBUMmer by this fall. He mine as well after twisting out Loving Savior's message about slavery.

Time to reclaim our FREEDOM from the “Mullah in Chief” and his growing activist voter hoards of socialists, communists, anti-Semites, anti-Christians, atheists, radical gays and lesbians, feminists, illegal immigrants, Muslims, anti-Anglo whites and others.

Re: Pat Robertson says to ignore the Bible on slavery.

Thanks for this reminder, Pastor Peters. We've known for years that Robertson is a false prophet; even the God-mockers know!

In this January 2005 article, Robertson praises his own accurate prophesying:
On the 700 Club broadcast, Robertson touted his 2004 New Year’s prediction that President George W. Bush would win re-election by “a blowout” as an example of a past prediction that turned out to be correct. On January 2, 2004, Robertson stated: “I think George Bush is going to win in a walk. I really believe I’m hearing from the Lord it’s going to be like a blowout election in 2004. It’s shaping up that way.” As Media Matters for America has noted, Bush’s margin of victory was the smallest for a reelected incumbent president since Woodrow Wilson in 1916.
      More from 2005:
“The vendetta against religion in America is about to end. … ‘I [God] will remove judges from the Supreme Court quickly and their successors will refuse to sanction the attacks on religious faith.’”
      Nope.
God’s spirit is going to be moving in dramatic power around the world. And his spirit is going to be touching the hearts of many in the Muslim world and they will be turning to the gospel, to Jesus Christ. I think many of them already are, but this is going to be an acceleration that will really amaze the world. … ‘Revival will break out throughout the Muslim world, my [God's] truth will penetrate their hearts. The hold of that falsehood that has gripped them will be broken.’”
      Er, nope.
“Well, the Lord has some very encouraging news for George Bush … What I heard is that Bush is now positioned to have victory after victory and that his second term is going to be one of triumph, which is pretty strong stuff. … He’ll have Social Security reform passed. He’ll have tax reform passed. He’ll have conservative judges on the courts. And that basically he is positioned for a series of dramatic victories which I hope will hearten him and his advisers. They don’t have to be timid in this matter because the wind is blowing at his back, and he can move forward boldly and get results.”
Could he have mistaken “miserable failures” to mean “victories”? Nah.
      But wait, there’s more!
Robertson sought the Republican nomination for president in 1988 and later founded the Christian Coalition, which has worked tirelessly to elect Republicans to public offices nationwide.
During the 1988 race, Robertson assured voters that God had told him he was going to win. He dropped out after placing third in the South Carolina primary with 19 percent of the vote. Not long after that, he said God had told him to run again in 1992, saying, “That is His plan for me and for this nation,” but Robertson did not seek the presidency again.
Other Robertson predictions have also fallen flat. In January of 1980, he predicted that the year would be marked by a worldwide economic depression followed by a major war in the Middle East, rioting, unrest in major Western nations and widespread starvation. On another occasion, he predicted that Russia would invade Israel in 1982 and that there would be a worldwide economic collapse in 1985. In his 1991 book, The New World Order, Robertson predicted that U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller would be elected president in 1996.
We can only wonder why God has not followed through on his own prophecy:
Deuteronomy 18:20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
Well, I guess if we wait long enough, he will . . .

"Terribly wrong"! Nothing in the Bible is terribly wrong.

In fact, nothing in the Bible is wrong at all.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

Re: Pat Robertson says to ignore the Bible on slavery.

Being from a state which was in the CSA (Confederate States of America to the Yankees), I find it appalling that he would even hint that the Bible does not condone slavery. Perhaps he is too busy smoking the ganja that he endorsed! So sad to see a once great man be plunged into the depths of Hell for arguing against the Bible.

(Also it should be noted, that as a Virginian myself, Mr. Robertson's views are not what the mainstream Virginians believe. It appears to me that we are in one mind in regards to our right to secede and own our slaves again, regardless of what the so-called "13th amendment says'. We shall rise again!)
Genesis 4:12: When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.

Numbers 35:19: The revenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer: when he meeteth him, he shall slay him.

I think Pat Robertson is sitting on Jesus' face and passing gas in His Holy Mouth! Pat Robertson has passed himself off as a man of God until now, only to reveal himself as a false prophet and condemn Biblical teaching. He might as well be Mohammed and rape a nine year old girl if he is going to do that.

With an androgynous name like "Pat" you never know what he will do next. I wouldn't be surprised if he endorses homerism and starts marrying lezbeans.

I haven't see ol' Pat in ages, and what's with the yellow tie anyway. The last time I saw him he was in one of his trances allegedly being commanded by the Holy Spirit. I think at this point is more like Jesus has struck him with dementia and Alzheimer's.

Robertson has always been known for liberal ideas, but this is just too much. Man who teaches to ignore the bible is not only liberal but downright evil.

Re: Pat Robertson says to ignore the Bible on slavery.

Why is he just talking about the Old Testament? Jesus also talked about slaves and the degree that they should be beaten,

                    Luke 12:47
And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

If slavery was wrong then that would have been an ideal time for Jesus to mention it.

This Pat Robertson fool needs to get right with Jesus

Evolving standards of decency are the way Mother/Father God continues to inspire us with Godly truths. You can't let your linear, syllogistic, Eurocentric reading of the Bible get in the way of what you feel in your heart to be right.

I keep hearing that, but the people who think that "what you feel in your heart" is the voice of God can never agree on anything, in which case they're clearly not hearing from God at all.
