    Good Books

I thought it was time that we True Christians moved ourselves away from the perception that all we want in life is to Praise God even more and that in some way God wants us to do nothing but work, praise and sleep the sleep of the just.

There is, indeed, as the writer of Ecclesiastes says, a time for everything, and one joy is to read the distilled words of wisdom that reach us across the years.

That was my thought as I read this book I received for my birthday from Nephew Zebulun:

Meet C. H. Dalton, a professor of racialist studies and an expert on inferior people of all ethnicities, genders, religions, and sexual preferences. Presenting evidence that everyone should be hated, A Practical Guide to Racism contains sparkling bits of wisdom on such subjects as:

    · The good life enjoyed by blacks, who shuffle through life unhindered by the white man's burdens, to become accomplished athletes, rhyme smiths, and dominoes champions
    · The sad story of the industrious, intelligent Jews, whose entire reputation is sullied by their taste for the blood of Christian babies
    · A close look at the bizarre, sweet-smelling race known as women, who are not very good at anything - especially ruling the free world
    · A crucial manual to Arabs, a people so sensitive they are liable to blow up at any time. Literally.

If you have a book that you can recommend, please weigh in.

    Brother Bathfire,

I always go for rock-hard science, especially now during the Christmas season. This year I've asked my relatives for something to study for hours and hours. I am not one to boast but I do enjoy reading Bible-based Science also in bed before the final evening prayers when falling asleep. Now this one is quite technical but I'm really hoping to get a copy:

I can also show you a selected page from this great book by Mr. Ken Ham.

What an intriguing sneak peak! Here we have Cain and Abel and the homicidal results (Genesis 4:8) of their mother's actions (Genesis 3:6). We have here the velocirapture and, as we can see, it was a vegetarian before the Flood (Genesis 9:3). This is very high-level Creation Science and many of our Brethren - let alone the wives - probably find it difficult to decipher, but it is all in Glory of God's Word, take My word for it!

    Here's another:

As an example of Ken Ham's genius, even I with my very solid background in Creation Science find it hard to explain the two blue figures on the left corner of this page (Exodus 35:23?). Who are they? Angels (Genesis 16:7)? Seraphim (Isaiah 6:6, probably not as the wing number would be anomalous)?

    1 Corinthians 4:1
We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.

    Yours in Christ,

    Elmer
2 Kings 18:25 - Am I now come up without the LORD against this place to destroy it? The LORD said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.

              Fantastic
By Slappy Da Frog on March 16, 2004
              Format: Paperback

For many years I suffered the agonizing pain that accompanies IBS. Little did I know that the answers to all my problems could be found within the "Good Book" that had been on my bookshelf since I was a child. Although I had read the Bible from cover to cover, it wasn't until I picked up Dr. Colbert's miriculous journal that I realized Jesus wasn't too busy healing cripples and raising from the dead to concern himself with curing explosive diarrhea as well. Taken directly from the pages of the four gospels, as well as the newly discovered Gospel According to Bucky, this book is a must have for anyone who has ever crapped their pants before making it to the John.

Amazing insight! Finally my bowels and soul are healed!
By John De Pablos on January 31, 2013
              Format: Paperback

Dr. Colbert has done an amazing job writing this book which promises to change the lives of thousands of suffering people. Just like Job suffered (My bowels boiled, and rested not: Job 30:26-27), many of us are afflicted with IBS. For some time now I have been working with doctors and keeping up with the latest scientific research in order to find a cure, or at least some reduction in symptoms. As it turns out, all I had to do was pray! Dr. Colbert recommends passages of scripture that will heal my intestinal distress!

Sure, OK, I guess if you follow this line of reasoning, you end up understanding that God gave me IBS in the first place. And sure, it seems like all of the explosive diarrhea, painful and loud gas passing during church services, and the spray painting of all the gas station toilets along my route home is a pretty cruel way of getting me to pray and believe in Him. But isn't it logical that if God is the one who caused me to empty my rectum every 10 minutes, He would be the only one who could stop the brown flood of death? Sure it does. Now, please excuse me while I pray to the porcelain god...
I suppose we should remember intestinal distress is no laughing matter. It is often a punishment for idolatry. If you don't repent, you could end up walking around with your bowels dangling between your legs like king Jehoram.

Second Chronicles 21:12 And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the Lord God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
Second Chronicles 21:13 But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father's house, which were better than thyself:
Second Chronicles 21:14 Behold, with a great plague will the Lord smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods:
Second Chronicles 21:15 And thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day.

I found an insightful book that describes the modern black community to those unfamiliar. Could be a very useful read when your child asks; "why are those people burnt?".
